State-of-the-art lighting for the indoor ice rink at Mok-dong Sports Complex
Delivering uniform illumination perfectly suited to an indoor ice arena
Musco Korea (CEO Jeffrey A. Rogers), a global leader in lighting solutions for sports arenas, infrastructure, and roadway intersections, has installed its ‘Total Light Control – TLC for LED™’ lighting system at the indoor ice rink of the Mok-dong Sports Complex in Yangcheon-gu, Seoul, creating an optimal indoor lighting environment in which athletes can perform at their best.
With this lighting installation, athletes competing at the ice arena across a variety of winter sports such as ice hockey and short track can now elevate their performance in a venue with top-tier lighting conditions in which stray light and glare are minimized. In particular, this LED lighting solution resolves the problems of the previous lighting. The ice rink had suffered from a number of after-sales issues, including poor uniformity caused by uneven illumination and frequent lamp outages. The new LED lighting solution is expected to improve performance by providing optimal beam angles that follow the athletes’ movements, and by applying the Show-Light® entertainment package, it will make various events special through dimming and instant on/off functions.
Musco Korea provides a 10-year quality warranty and free inspection service from the initial date of purchase. Based on a systematic after-sales management system, a team of specialized engineers made up of head-office staff visits the site in person to provide optimized after-sales service. All components of the LED lighting system are provided free of charge, making it especially economical over the long term.
Musco Korea has been designing and manufacturing lighting systems for sports and large spaces since 1976, and to this day it continues to expand its lighting share at the home venues of the 2022-2023 Premier League and the four major North American professional sports leagues—the National Basketball Association (NBA), Major League Baseball (MLB), the National Football League (NFL), and the National Hockey League (NHL).
