Development of a ‘4-Stage Filter System’
Samsung Electronics’ ‘BESPOKE Water Purifier,’ launched on March 22, has surpassed 10,000 units sold within just three months of its domestic release.
The Samsung BESPOKE Water Purifier features not only powerful purification performance but also a modular design that can be selected according to the consumer’s taste and lifestyle.
Samsung Electronics developed a ‘4-Stage Filter System’ that powerfully and finely filters out foreign substances so that consumers can enjoy clean water with peace of mind, and applied it not only to the BESPOKE Water Purifier but also to BESPOKE Refrigerators equipped with a water purification function.
This filter system earned the most certifications among domestically manufactured water purifiers and refrigerator water purifiers from NSF International, a U.S. drinking-water testing organization, covering purification performance and material safety across a total of 73 items, including heavy metals such as lead, arsenic, and mercury, as well as bisphenol A and perfluorinated compounds (PFOA, PFOS). In particular, the product is a new-concept water purifier that allows consumers to individually add cold-water or cold-and-hot-water modules as needed, and it received an Innovation Award at CES 2021 in recognition of its differentiated technology.
The Samsung BESPOKE Water Purifier has been well received by consumers for features such as: △a built-in design that installs the purification module under the sink to make ample use of kitchen space; △faucets (water outlets) available in colors that can be selected to match the interior and offered in two types depending on usage; and △an AI-based ‘Smart Clean Care’ that keeps the product hygienically managed without the need for periodic visit services.
Smart Clean Care: △automatically discharges water that has stagnated in the direct-water pipe when the product is not used for four hours, suppressing microbial growth; and △automatically sterilizes the corrosion- and contamination-resistant stainless steel direct-water pipe once every three days via electrolysis, removing up to 99.9% of both surface-adhering and floating bacteria. In addition, it conveniently analyzes usage patterns and runs its automatic drainage and sterilization functions during times of low usage frequency.
