An underground space embracing art, created along the public pedestrian walkway of Raemian One Bailey
Following the iF and Red Dot Design Awards, sweeping the world's three major design awards

Samsung C&T Engineering & Construction Group (hereinafter Samsung C&T) won a Featured Finalist award in the Environments category at the 'IDEA Design Award 2024,' achieving the distinction of winning at all three of the world's major design awards this year.
Samsung C&T received the award in the recently announced U.S. 'IDEA Design Award 2024' evaluation for its RAEMIAN ONE BAILEY Street Art Gallery, the public pedestrian walkway of Raemian One Bailey.
The IDEA Design Award is an international design prize hosted by the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) and is regarded, alongside Germany's 'Red Dot Design Award' and the 'iF Design Award,' as one of the world's three major design awards. Final winners are selected by a panel of professional industrial design judges after evaluation of detailed criteria such as innovation, usability, social contribution, and aesthetics.
The public pedestrian walkway of Raemian One Bailey is a 360-meter underground section connecting Goto Mall (the underground shopping arcade at Express Bus Terminal Station) to Banpo Hangang Park. It features a street gallery adorned with works by 24 professional graffiti, cartoon, and illustration artists under the theme 'The Daily Life of Seoul Citizens, Seoul's 24 Hours.' In addition, natural lighting is made possible through a sunken garden and overhead skylights, reconfiguring the underground walkway into a safe and pleasant space. Through this, pedestrians such as local residents and visitors to Hangang Park can appreciate a variety of works as they pass through and enjoy a distinctive cultural experience in their daily lives.
With this award, Samsung C&T has swept the world's three major design awards this year—along with the 'iF Design Award 2024' (Raemian One Bailey underground space and community) and the 'Red Dot Design Award 2024' (Raemian One Bailey playground)—earning recognition for its design competitiveness. This IDEA Design Award win appears to have been viewed all the more positively for transforming a public space into an artistic space, thereby not only enhancing the value of the Raemian complex but also contributing to the improvement of the social environment.
