Showcases 'AI Village' Comprising AI Home, AI Office and AI Store
Samsung Electronics showcased a diverse array of AI life in everyday settings at 'KES 2024 (Korea Electronics Show),' held at COEX from October 22 to 25.
Samsung Electronics created an 'AI Village,' where visitors can experience daily life and value renewed by AI across every aspect of living, from the home to the business domain. The AI Village consists of the 'AI Home,' which delivers AI experiences optimized for family members in spaces such as the living room, kitchen and bedroom; the 'AI Office,' which enhances work efficiency through managed work environments; and the 'AI Store,' which enables efficient store management.
▲In the 'living room' of the AI Home, Samsung presented the 'Calm Onboarding' feature, which automatically and effortlessly connects a newly purchased product to SmartThings simply by turning on its power. The '3D Map View' feature of the 'Neo QLED 8K' allows users to check and control devices throughout the home in real time. In the 'kitchen,' visitors could manage schedules and check in on family members by monitoring daily routines. For example, registering a medication schedule in SmartThings sends a notification at the set time, and the 'BESPOKE Water Purifier' dispenses water at the appropriate amount and temperature. In addition, if a product goes unused for a long period, or if a fall or other incident is detected by the motion sensor of a wearable device, an automatic notification is sent, allowing family members who live far apart to stay aware of one another's well-being in real time, while the camera of the 'BESPOKE AI Steam' lets users check conditions inside the home. In the 'bedroom,' the system proposes health management optimized for the individual—from sleep to exercise—based on health data from wearable devices. When the 'Galaxy Watch' and 'Galaxy Ring' detect the user's sleep state, connected lights, air purifiers and other devices automatically switch to sleep mode. The Galaxy wearable devices being worn also collect data during sleep to measure the user's overall 'Energy Score.' ▲Samsung Electronics also unveiled the AI-based 'AI Office' and 'AI Store,' which support efficient business operations and revenue growth. The AI Office featured 'AI Access Management,' which distinguishes between insiders and outsiders through facial recognition; 'AI Customized Environments,' which automatically configure lighting, air conditioning and video systems according to the office setting; and 'Galaxy AI,' which supports drafting meeting minutes through Note Assist as well as real-time interpretation for foreign-language emails, meetings and more. ▲The 'AI Store' builds a comfortable store environment by setting lighting, temperature and more through an automated routine before the store opens, and by sensing air quality data to automatically adjust the air conditioning temperature according to areas crowded with customers. In addition, using 'SmartThings Pro' to monitor conditions and control devices across the entire store, and having AI analyze the density of store visitors to automatically adjust energy usage, businesses can build an efficient management system that reduces costs and increases sales.
