Samsung Electronics took part in the ‘Salone del Mobile Milano 2018’ (Milan International Furniture Fair 2018), held in Milan, Italy from April 17 to 22, where it showcased a wide range of premium built-in home appliances.

The Milan Furniture Fair is the world’s largest design and furniture exhibition, drawing more than 2,000 companies from some 160 countries around the world.

Samsung Electronics set up a standalone exhibition space of approximately 992㎡ (300 pyeong) and was the only Korean home appliance manufacturer to participate in the ‘EuroCucina’ section. It carried out exhibition collaborations centered on built-in ovens and induction cooktops for the European market, together with premium European furniture companies such as Germany’s Nolte and Italy’s Scavolini and Veneta Cucine. Held every two years, ‘EuroCucina’ offers an at-a-glance view of trends in the European kitchen furniture and appliance market, and most major global home appliance makers—including Miele, Bosch, Whirlpool and Electrolux—take part.

At this exhibition, under the theme ‘Bring kitchens to life,’ Samsung Electronics presented ‘Samsung Built-in,’ featuring innovative technology, and the ‘Dacor Modernist Collection,’ which represents the essence of luxury home appliances.

In addition to its diverse product lineup, Samsung Electronics drew attention at the show by presenting premium kitchen trends through new materials, designs and smart functions. By applying a black stainless steel finish, the company emphasized a sophisticated look suited to European kitchen interiors, and it also offered a glimpse into the future of built-in appliances by strengthening IoT connectivity.

Samsung Electronics also introduced an ‘IoT Home’ realized through home appliances and various smart devices linked via ‘SmartThings.’

In the ‘IoT Home,’ Michel Troisgros—a member of the ‘Samsung Club des Chefs’ and a renowned Michelin-starred chef—took part and hosted a cooking show using the smart features of the Family Hub refrigerator and ovens, drawing great popularity.
