Discover the most trend-forward materials in the domestic market, all in one place

Since its opening last year, Samik Industry's interior materials showroom 'THE MATERIALS' has drawn a steady stream of visitors.

In September 2021, to mark its 40th anniversary, Samik Industry reorganized its business divisions into Samik Building Materials, Samik Windows & Doors, and Samik Interior. The showroom displays the flagship products of Samik Interior, including ▲veneer panels, ▲concrete panels, ▲coatings, ▲windows and doors, and ▲door handles.

The showroom as a whole is designed with an upscale, gallery-like image. Upon entering, visitors are greeted by a variety of Samik Interior products displayed along the walls around a central table. To make the most of the space, the walls were built in a layered, sliding format so that consumers can view as many products as possible. In particular, the main table serves as the center of the space while also being crafted to a generous length so that a range of activities—meetings, seminars, and socializing—can take place; samples of panels, coatings, and more are placed at the center of the table so visitors can easily view and compare products. In addition, a special object shaped to evoke timber is featured on the ceiling, giving the space a focal point and expressing Samik Industry's own identity.

The first product visitors encounter among those displayed on the walls is the Hungarian solid-wood flooring 'Edelholz.' 'Edelholz' is made of triple oak, giving it outstanding quality and a distinct sense of craftsmanship. Right beside it is the 'Parky' solid-wood flooring; 'Parky' is a floor with a veneer top layer, regarded as a leading flooring material that conveys the texture, feel, and atmosphere of natural wood just as it is. It is notable for enabling a unified interior look when used on walls and doors as well. 'Manita' is a 100% Italian door handle, and visitors can view the diverse product lineup proposed directly by Italian designers at the showroom. In particular, as a high value-for-money product at a reasonable price point, it is being applied in a variety of spaces such as luxury resorts and hotels.

Deeper inside the showroom, Samik Windows & Doors' 'Deceuninck' products are on display. 'Deceuninck' is a system window that boasts excellent insulation and airtightness, and with an in-house installation team, both standard and non-standard professional installation is possible. In addition, Samik Windows & Doors is generating anticipation ahead of the launch of 'Schüco' aluminum window and door products in 2022. In the second half of 2022, Samik Industry plans to begin full-scale production of 'Schüco' aluminum windows and doors, rounding out its entire window-and-door lineup to strengthen product competitiveness.

To the left of the showroom, visitors can find in one place Samik Interior's specialty products—a variety of veneer panels including ▲Querkus, ▲Shinnoki, and ▲Europlac from Decospan. 'Querkus' is composed exclusively of oak products and offers 10 unfinished pattern designs, allowing a wide range of choices to suit one's taste or the concept of a space. 'Shinnoki' consists of finished oak and walnut patterns and is offered in 8 designs. 'Europlac' is a dyed veneer product; unlike conventional stained products, its advantage is that it retains its inherent color even when scratched, and it comes in a lineup of 8 products with subtle color tones. Thanks to their outstanding quality and premium design, these veneer panels are currently applied in the kitchen furniture of domestic brands such as Hanssem, Hyundai Livart, Enex, and LX Hausys, earning recognition for their quality. In addition, the concrete panel 'Light Beton' is a concrete panel made 90% lighter using a 2㎜ surface of real concrete; it can be applied to furniture materials as well as walls and ceilings, and is drawing attention for its easy installation. In particular, the showroom features a kitchen space built with the veneer panel 'Querkus (Smoked Robusta)' and the concrete panel 'Light Beton,' recreating exactly how the products look when applied to an actual kitchen so that consumers can choose products more easily.

Displayed next to the kitchen space, 'Adler' is an eco-friendly coating product from Austria. Adler is offered in three lines: ▲Aqua Top, ▲Bluefin Pigmosoft, and ▲Aqua Pure. 'Aqua Top' has the advantage of preserving the original texture of the wood when applied to veneer, with an excellent tactile feel and superb finish quality. 'Bluefin Pigmosoft' is a water-based coating optimized for furniture, doubling the sense of luxury with its velvety touch and matte finish. 'Aqua Pure' recreates a metallic look, making distinctive yet artistic expression possible.

Kim Young-hoon, director at Samik Industry, said, "The Samik Industry showroom is more than just a showroom—it is a space where you can encounter the most trend-forward materials distributed in the domestic market." He added, "Recently, as consumers actively share information, demand to personally select materials during an interior project has been rising sharply. As a result, there has been steady demand for a showroom where materials can be seen and selected in one place. Opening the showroom is part of our strategy to meet these consumer needs and to raise the brand awareness of Samik Interior."

Meanwhile, at the showroom, visitors can not only see and experience Samik Industry's diverse interior materials firsthand but also receive consultations from architecture and interior professionals. The showroom is located on the 1st floor at 11, Nonhyeon-ro 132-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, and operating hours are weekdays 9:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Saturdays 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 02-540-3648
