‘2022 Art Prize Gangnam’
Operates a painting experience zone
Samhwa Paints Industrial (CEO Oh Jin-soo) participated as an official sponsor in ‘2022 Art Prize Gangnam,’ Korea’s first street art competition hosted by Gangnam-gu.
Running through November 13 on the Nonhyeon-dong Furniture Street, ‘2022 Art Prize Gangnam’ is hosted by Seoul’s Gangnam-gu and is an art competition and exhibition event held to revitalize the Nonhyeon-dong Furniture Street and to help citizens enjoy culture and the arts.
Samhwa Paints sponsored this event to revitalize local commercial districts weakened by COVID-19 and to provide emerging artists with opportunities to exhibit and grow. In particular, at the ‘Art×Street Gallery,’ past award-winning artists showcased artworks painted with ‘iLux,’ Samhwa Paints’ eco-friendly paint, and an experience zone where any visitor could try painting was also operated.
Samhwa Paints held an SNS event to commemorate its participation, offering Starbucks Americano coupons through a drawing to customers who followed the Samhwa Paints Instagram account and posted proof of visiting the ‘Art×Street Gallery’ on social media.
A Samhwa Paints official said, “We hope this serves as a great opportunity for emerging artists to grow through support for the culture and arts sector,” adding, “Going forward, we plan to carry out various social contribution activities—such as improving public environments and crime prevention through design—so that citizens can live with peace of mind.”
Meanwhile, this past September Samhwa Paints signed an MOU with Gangnam-gu on promoting ESG initiatives, agreeing to work together with Gangnam-gu on business research and idea development for urban growth.
