Samhwa Paints Mfg. Co., Ltd. announced that it has completed development of its 'In-Can Smart System,' which dramatically enhances the convenience of color tinting at paint dealerships, and that it will roll out full-scale operation of the system at dealerships equipped with Samhwa Paints' automatic color-tinting equipment.
At existing paint dealerships, when a dealer requests color data values from the manufacturer for color tinting, the manufacturer provides the appropriate color data. The dealer then downloads this data and manually enters it into the tinting equipment. During this process, mistakes such as incorrect data entry can result in improperly tinted paint being delivered or having to be discarded, leading to economic and environmental losses.
The 'In-Can Smart System' developed by Samhwa Paints is a POS (point-of-sale)-based service that fully automates the entire process from data search to mixing and color updates. Using this system minimizes data-entry errors and is efficient, as no separate equipment operation is required. In particular, the system offers the advantage of automatically updating whenever new tinting information or changes arise, allowing dealers to always create more accurate colors using the latest tinting data.
Samhwa Paints plans to update the POS units at dealerships equipped with automatic color-tinting equipment by April, and to provide free internet connection for using the system as well as training on POS operation.
An official at Samhwa Paints said, "This In-Can Smart System will be extremely useful for dealerships that have relatively struggled with color-tinting operations," adding, "We will continue to develop a variety of automated equipment and programs to make our dealerships smarter, striving to improve the convenience and cost-effectiveness for dealership owners."
