Introduces disaster-prevention coatings to officials from government agencies and public institutions

Promotes technologies including fireproofing, anti-static, and acid-alkali detection coatings

Samhwa Paints Industrial Co., Ltd. (President and CEO Oh Jin-soo) took part in the '2020 Korea Construction Safety Expo,' held over three days from October 28 to 30 at KINTEX.

The Korea Construction Safety Expo is a specialized trade show in the 'construction and industrial safety' field, expanded in line with the government's strengthening of construction safety policies, and draws large numbers of safety-technology companies that showcase the present and future of construction safety.

This year, Samhwa Paints Industrial Co., Ltd. presented an even broader lineup of disaster-prevention products, including its flagship fireproof coating brand, the FlameCheck series, flame-retardant coatings for wood, and fire-retardant coatings for building floors, as well as its newly patented anti-static epoxy flooring and acid-alkali detection coatings.

'Electrification' refers to an object holding an electric charge; the static electricity generated in this process can discharge and damage materials or attract dust and particles, so it must be prevented—this prevention is called anti-static treatment. Anti-static flooring is essential in places where the occurrence of static electricity could cause serious disruptions to operations or have harmful effects on the human body, such as semiconductor lines, electronics manufacturing facilities, information and communications facilities, and operating rooms.

Acid-alkali detection coatings undergo a chemical reaction and change color upon contact with acidic or alkaline chemicals. Through these hazardous-substance-reactive coatings, leaks can be detected in real time.

A Samhwa Paints official said, "Prevention and management are most important when it comes to safety accidents, and fireproof, flame-retardant, and fire-retardant disaster-prevention coatings can minimize loss of life and property in the event of a major accident," adding, "We will continue to strive to become a company that contributes to the advancement of construction and industrial safety in Korea by developing disaster-prevention coatings that concentrate our safety technologies."

The Korea Construction Safety Expo, established to foster Korea's safety industry and build a foundation for its development, drew a large number of safety-technology companies that showcase the present and future of construction safety, and Samhwa Paints Industrial Co., Ltd. was the only comprehensive paint manufacturer to participate this year, as it was last year.
