Last November, the Samhwa Paints Color Design Center announced ‘M-a-us 2020’ as its ‘2020 Color Nuance of the Year.’
Using the colors of ‘M-a-us 2020,’ the Color Design Center proposed color styling for the following: △a space for a calming effect and concentration △a space with a calm, soft feel △a space with a bright, cheerful atmosphere △a modern, practical space △a space full of vitality.
‘M-a-us’ embodies the values of Momentum (growth), Almighty (strength), and Us. △Momentum is a keyword for the hope and excitement surrounding 2020, a year that will mark a major turning point as 5G (fifth-generation mobile communications), smart cities, and new mobility gain speed. △Almighty is a keyword of positivity and strength, pursuing a better world by harnessing technology as a helper rather than as something that rules over humanity. △Us is a keyword of coexistence and sustainability that pursues the convergence of nature and technology, convergence across industries, and online-offline convergence. The five colors drawn from these keywords form a color palette composed of △Arctic Sea (cool teal) △Provence Blue (soft blue) △Yellowfin (bright yellow) △Mesa Pink (pink) △Bio Green (bright green), expressing anticipation and hope, mystery, freshness, and positivity toward a new era.
2020 Interior Color Package Ⅰ The blue-green Arctic Sea color is a color that boosts concentration along with a calming effect. As a color that also conveys a refreshing feel, it works well styled with white and gray colors to create a modern atmosphere. Using semi-gloss finished brass materials or graphic patterns can emphasize a more sophisticated and delicate sensibility.
2020 Interior Color Package Ⅱ The Provence Blue color gives a calm and soft feel. It can be styled into an antique look by matching it with vintage-inspired solid wood furniture and green earthy-colored fabrics. Using the bright-toned Pinky Sand color completes a retro-feel styling.
2020 Interior Color Package Ⅲ As spring approaches, if you want to bring bright, cheerful colors into both fashion and space, make active use of yellow-family colors. When the Yellowfin color is styled together with bright-toned solid wood, Milk White, and Rich Gold colors, it not only illuminates the entire space brightly but also lets you feel comfort and warmth.
2020 Interior Color Package Ⅳ While bright pastel pink is a good color to use in children’s spaces, the slightly toned-down Mesa Pink color is a good choice for the spaces of college students and young professionals. Styled together with Milk White, Cave Stone, and Onyx Black colors, it completes a modern, practical space.
2020 Interior Color Package Ⅴ Try using the Bio Green color in your space. A single wall color alone can create a lively space, and using a bright gray color close to white as the dominant color can give an even more cheerful and fresh feel.
