Premium water-based paint ‘heirei,’ a multi-purpose paint
Design captures the supple curves of paint and the texture of a brush

Samhwa Paint Ind. Co., Ltd. has won the GOLD AWARD, the top honor, in the Communication Branding category of the ‘iF Design Award 2025.’
The ‘iF Design Award,’ together with the Red Dot Design Award and the IDEA Design Award, is one of the world’s three most authoritative design competitions. A panel of judges made up of experts from various countries selects the winning works based on a comprehensive evaluation of their aesthetics, functionality, user experience and other criteria.
The winning work, ‘heirei,’ aims to go beyond simply adding color to a space and to reflect individual tastes. ‘heirei’ features a design that captures the supple curves derived from the physical properties of paint as well as the texture of a brush, conveying the message that painting is not merely a task but something that transforms one’s own lifestyle.
The judging panel praised ‘heirei’ for its design and branding concept with a distinctive identity, noting that “heirei harmoniously blends youthful energy with mature sophistication.” ‘heirei’ is a premium water-based paint that Samhwa Paint newly launched last October. Samhwa Paint developed ‘heirei’ to shift perceptions of paint and to deliver emotional and psychological value beyond a function-centered market. ‘heirei’ is a multi-purpose paint that can be used regardless of the application, whether on concrete, wallpaper or wood. The product consists of 60 curated colors selected by experts such as designers and artists from among thousands of paint colors.
A Samhwa Paint official said, “This award reflects our efforts to build the brand through a strategic concept and creative design,” adding, “As a premium brand, heirei will reach consumers in a variety of ways.”
Meanwhile, to celebrate winning the Gold Award at the ‘iF Design Award 2025,’ Samhwa Paint is holding an event offering a 10% discount on heirei and free gifts at its official smart store through March 31.
