Saturnbath (CEO Jung In-hwan), a company specializing in bathroom furniture, took part in '2020 HOTEL FAIR,' a trade exhibition dedicated to the hotel, resort, and lodging industry held at COEX in Seoul from February 12 to 14, where it showcased a range of premium bathroom products.
The 2020 Hotel Fair is a specialized exhibition encompassing the lodging industry as a whole, including hotels, resorts, residences, pensions, motels, and guesthouses. Covering everything from hotel investment, development, architecture, design, and marketing to the supplies, services, and solutions needed for operations, the fair allows attendees to grasp the latest trends through companies' presentations of new technologies and products, and offers business opportunities for various forms of collaboration such as information exchange, business partnerships, and promotional activities.
At the 2020 Hotel Fair, Saturnbath drew strong interest from visitors by presenting, area by area, luxury bathroom products suited to hotel and resort bathrooms as well as public restroom products for use in multi-use facilities, all based on the concept of 'delivering a bathroom space unlike any conventional bathroom.' In particular, Saturnbath introduced its Visoft 360 service, which uses the Visoft program to apply bathroom products chosen directly by the consumer to a 3D virtual bathroom for a real-time experience.
The Visoft program visualizes tiles and sanitary ware to render, for the customer, a virtual space with interior installation completed. The Visoft library currently shares the 3D data of products from more than 700 companies on the web. Using the 'Visoft 360' function, customers can match wall and floor finishing materials to a space on a smartphone or tablet without any actual interior installation, and can view Saturnbath's bathtubs, washbasins, mirrors, and various bathroom accessories as they would appear in reality.
The main products Saturnbath presented included its art collaboration 'ASSEM' and 'ORBIS' series, along with the 'Poly Edition' washbasin and mirror created in collaboration with designer Kim Hyun-beom, which were unveiled for the first time. Also on display were 'AKIN,' designed by Karim Rashid, and 'CRESCENT,' a half-body bathtub by artist Mok Seok-ae, who is renowned as a crayon painter. In addition, visitors could see a variety of shower faucets from Methven, a New Zealand company founded in 1886 with a long history and top-tier technology, as well as a range of accessories from Valehaus, a specialist in bathroom accessories.
△The ASSEM collection is a collaboration between Saturnbath and artist Song Seung-yong, who has been drawing attention in Europe with his own unique ideas rooted in the beauty of nature as it is; its bathtub won the Gold Award at the '2019 iF Design Award.' It is a new modular bathroom collection that creates diverse expressions of objets according to the user's choices and arrangement through combinations of different parts.
△The ORBIS collection is the work of the design duo INODA+SVEJE, who have pursued a wide range of design work applied to both the design process and aesthetics. Shaped as bubbles that naturally intersect with a quiet, static Zen style, it well expresses Saturnbath's philosophy of harmonizing technology and art. It won the main prize at the 2019 iF Design Award.
△For the 'Poly Edition' washbasin and mirror, Saturnbath collaborated with designer Kim Hyun-beom, who graduated from Italy's Domus Academy and has gained recognition through collaborations with world-renowned designer Simone Micheli, among others. The Poly Edition is a product that minimizes the water-pooling issue of conventional public washbasins; its advantages are that the faucet is placed inside and the basin is made deep so that water does not splash.
△The 'AKIN' bathtub, designed by Karim Rashid, is characterized by the large angles at each corner that give it a soft feel. △The CRESCENT bathtub is made of LAR liquid acrylic and is a half-body bathtub that conveys a cozy feeling.
Meanwhile, Saturnbath is proving its worth in the high-end interior market, supplying its products to a variety of luxury hotel facilities, including a full-room delivery to the top-tier Seamarq Hotel, as well as Park Roche Resort & Wellness (the official resort of the 2018 PyeongChang Olympics), South Cape Owners Club, Paradise City in Yeongjong-do, W Hotel, and the recently opened Andar Hotel.
