Hosts 'Professional Seminar' at 2019 Korea Build

Collaborative exhibitions with Koodung Flooring, Total Stone Industry and others draw visitors' attention

Bathroom company Saturnbath drew the attention of experts and consumers with bathroom designs that incorporate the themes of 'eco-friendliness and healing.'

At '2019 Korea Build,' held at COEX in Seoul from July 4 to 7, Saturnbath introduced a range of bathroom products featuring its differentiated technology and design through a professional seminar and various collaborative exhibitions.

At the 'Professional Seminar' held on July 5, Cho Eun-ha, General Manager of Saturnbath (Director of KOSID, the Korean Society of Interior Architects/Designers), introduced eco-friendly bathroom products and proposed the 'Beyond Bath' concept.

In line with the reality that, amid growing interest in health and healing, the bathroom is being newly reappraised as a space for recharging, General Manager Cho introduced bathroom products (bathtubs, bathroom cabinets, shower booths, ceiling materials, etc.) made from eco-friendly materials that consider not only hygiene but also health, along with new installation methods and installation cases. She also proposed 'Beyond Bath,' a specialized premium bathroom line tailored to life-cycle characteristics, including kids' bathrooms and silver bathrooms designed for easy use by the elderly. In addition, she introduced new products developed in collaboration with designers such as Karim Rashid, as well as overseas luxury bathrooms including 'smart bathrooms' that incorporate IoT, an overseas bathroom trend.

Alongside the seminar, Saturnbath also carried out collaborative exhibitions with companies participating in Korea Build. In the Koodung Flooring booth in the special 'Trend Pavilion' hall, the Orbis bathtub, washbasin and round mirror designed by Inoda+Sveje were displayed; a round bathtub (SBL1904) was exhibited at the Total Stone Industry exhibition hall; and two types of freestanding washbasins were provided for display at the J Furniture booth.

Founded in 1990, Saturnbath is a leader in the bathroom industry, having been the first to develop bathroom cabinets, bathtubs, shower booths and ABS ceiling materials. Saturnbath has devoted itself to research and development (R&D) aimed at enhancing the function and design of the bathroom as a 'healing' space, and it researches and develops products that consider not only the bathroom space but also surrounding spaces such as the bedroom and powder room.

In particular, Saturnbath established Korea's first bathroom research institute and adopted LAR, an eco-friendly liquid acrylic material made in the UK, and its competitiveness is also recognized in the field of design. This past March, at the 'iF Design Award' held in Munich, Germany, the company won the Gold Award—equivalent to the top prize in its category—for designer Song Seung-yong's 'ASSEM Collection,' and a Winner award for Inoda+Sveje's 'ORBIS' collection. The judging panel praised the ASSEM Collection, saying that 'the bathroom products are as beautiful as viewing a masterpiece painting.' To advance into the global market, Saturnbath is collaborating with world-class industrial designers such as Karim Rashid and Italian designer Claudio Bellini.

Furthermore, as a result of consistent design management over 29 years, Saturnbath—rare for a small or medium-sized enterprise—is building a joint-venture plant with FORTUNE, one of Myanmar's top 10 groups, and is set to sign a strategic MOU with JINDAL, one of India's top 6 groups, during July 2019.
