Saturnbath Co., Ltd. sponsored and exhibited its products at the ‘2018 Garden Industry Design Competition,’ held at the Suncheonman National Garden in Jeollanam-do from April 5 to 22.

At this exhibition, Saturnbath showcased its products under the themes of △‘Nature Combine,’ where nature and the bathroom come together in harmony, and △the ‘Art Bathroom,’ which transcends the limits of the bathroom and elevates it to art.

The work Saturnbath presented this time is the ‘KOUPLE’ series, a collaboration between Saturnbath and Karim Rashid, one of the ‘world’s top three industrial designers.’ It is a product that stands out not only for its bathroom functionality but also for its artistic value.

This result reflects the significance that Saturnbath—which established Korea’s first bathroom research institute and has led the nation’s bathroom culture—places on presenting a vision for the future of the bathroom, one attuned to shifts in consumers’ living environments and culture, such as the coexistence of humanity and nature and changing perceptions of residential space.

At this design exhibition, held under the theme ‘Gardens and the Future That Breathe and Live Together,’ Saturnbath presented a bathroom featuring a ‘Green Wall’ under the concept of a ‘healing bathroom combined with nature (Nature Combine).’ This is a bathroom united as one with nature, where nature is highlighted visually as well as through fresh air, reaching consumers as a true ‘healing bathroom.’

Saturnbath had already presented products on the theme of combining the bathroom with nature at ‘Hotel Fair 2018,’ through a green wall incorporating air-purifying plants. A bathroom with a green wall not only generates negative ions and regulates humidity but also delivers excellent effects in purifying the air and removing fine dust, thereby resolving the problems that arose in conventional wet bathrooms; it improves indoor air quality and lowers the discomfort index. The green wall, also introduced at this Garden Industry Design Competition, forms one pillar of the healing bathroom that Saturnbath aspires to, playing a key role in a bathroom that can satisfy both body and mind.

In addition, under the theme of the ‘Art Bathroom,’ Saturnbath presented a vision for the future of the bathroom as a space that goes beyond the mere concept of a product—combining cutting-edge functionality and an ergonomic system with aesthetic beauty to meet diverse individual tastes and needs. In particular, the collaboration with Karim Rashid united the bathroom’s practicality with aesthetic elements, further highlighting its value as a work of art.

Meanwhile, the bathtub, washbasin, and mirror featured in this exhibition were made of liquid acrylic, a new material boasting a soft touch and a luxurious texture, and were used effectively to express a bathroom of the future.
