Recognized for Landscape Planning/Design
Samsung C&T's Engineering & Construction Group announced that it won the Grand Prize and an Award of Excellence at the 2025 IFLA APR (Asia-Pacific Region) LA (Landscape Architecture) Awards, hosted by the International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA). Samsung C&T entered the landscape designs for Raemian One Pentas in Seocho-gu, Seoul, and Raemian Forestige in Dongnae-gu, Busan, winning the Grand Prize and an Award of Excellence, respectively, in the residential category.
Founded in 1948, the International Federation of Landscape Architects is the leading body representing landscape architects around the world, with roughly 80 member countries today, and its awards carry the highest authority in the field of landscape architecture worldwide.
Samsung C&T won the Grand Prize for the landscape design applied to Raemian One Pentas, optimized to allow residents to enjoy comfortable relaxation. A sunken garden was created to shield residents from the winds off the Han River while also providing a cozy resting garden. In addition, a variety of community facilities were arranged to offer pleasant spaces and enhance residents' convenience.
At Raemian Forestige, facilities and themed gardens inspired by the nearby natural heritage site 'Geumsaem' and the 'Eight Scenic Views of Geumjeong' on Geumjeongsan Mountain were created to faithfully express the area's outstanding natural environment. The project also earned an Award of Excellence for a landscape that provides diverse scenery through a Rain Garden, which is normally a dry streambed but transforms into an ecological pond when it rains.
With these awards, Samsung C&T has now received the International Federation of Landscape Architects Awards a total of 15 times, demonstrating its unrivaled landscape capabilities. Notably, in 2023, the company entered 'Raemian Nature Gallery,' the outdoor landscape space of Raemian Gallery, becoming the first Korean construction company to win the top prize at the International Federation of Landscape Architects Awards.
