LX Glas expands adoption, centered on premium reconstruction residential complexes
Blocks up to 49% more solar heat compared to conventional single-Low-E glass

LX Glas' high-performance glass, Super Double-Low-E, has been applied to 'PODES Hangang,' an ultra-luxury apartment complex along the Han River in Seoul.
PODES Hangang has drawn attention for its ultra-premium location overlooking the Han River and its refined architectural design, and has been built as an ultra-high-end residence with per-pyeong sale prices exceeding 100 million won. From the early design stage, the project incorporated a variety of premium materials that considered view quality, indoor comfort, and exterior design together, and LX Glas' Super Double-Low-E was used for the window glazing. Super Double-Low-E maintains the open view of the Han River while effectively blocking strong solar heat, reducing the cooling burden in summer and minimizing heating loss in winter to provide a comfortable indoor environment year-round. By applying two silver coating layers, it improves solar heat blocking performance (SHGC) by up to 49% compared to conventional single-Low-E glass, and raises the UV blocking rate by up to 44%. As a result, the interior becomes more comfortable and cooling energy savings can be achieved, while a bright and cool atmosphere is maintained thanks to high visible-light transmittance. In addition, with a range of color options such as clear, light blue, and gray, it is well suited to realizing the modern, upscale facade design intended by the architect.
Beginning with PODES Hangang, the adoption of Super Double-Low-E is continuing in reconstruction complexes in the Gangnam area, including THE H Bangbae in Bangbae District 5, Raemian Trinione in Banpo District 3-Jugu, and Sinbanpo Maple Xi. Recognized in the premium residential market as a key solution that simultaneously satisfies energy savings, view assurance, and exterior design, it is steadily broadening its range of application.
Meanwhile, the government's proposed strengthening of the building energy-saving design standards will lower the primary energy requirement from the current 200 Wh/㎡·year to 150 Wh/㎡·year and, from this December, will make it mandatory to attain an average solar heat gain score of 0.6 points or higher. Super Double-Low-E offers performance capable of meeting these new regulations, positioning it as a stable and future-oriented choice for large-scale reconstruction and ultra-luxury new-build residential projects going forward.
