Aqara Life, Samsung C&T

Anticipation for the First 'Matter-Based Smart Home'

AIoT specialist Aqara Life (CEO Song Hee-kyung) has signed a platform integration agreement with Samsung C&T to promote the adoption of 'Matter.' The signing ceremony took place on the 9th at the Raemian Gallery in Songpa-gu, Seoul, attended by executives and staff from both Aqara Life and Samsung C&T.

Through this agreement, the two companies plan to integrate Matter devices, including Aqara's 'Smart Matter Hub M3,' into Samsung C&T's 'Homeniq' platform, providing Homeniq app users with an even more expanded range of Matter-based smart home services.

Homeniq is an apartment living app developed by Samsung C&T. It is a next-generation home platform that, in addition to Internet of Things (IoT)-based smart home services, offers all aspects of residential living services such as cultural activities and health management. Samsung C&T launched the Homeniq app in August last year, first applying it at Raemian One Bailey, and now provides the service to residents of more than 16 complexes.

Aqara Life is a joint venture established in Korea in 2019 together with Aqara, the world's No. 1 IoT specialist. It is the only AIoT specialist in Korea offering integrated services of high-quality IoT devices and consumer-tailored platforms. Aqara's devices officially support various smart home platforms, including Samsung Electronics' SmartThings, Apple Home, and Google Assistant. This past June, it launched the Matter-based 'Smart Hub M3' worldwide, drawing strong interest from the global IoT market.

Matter is an international IoT communication standard, a technology that enables various IoT devices to be connected and controlled on a single platform. Since last year, Aqara Life has carried out IoT-related collaborations with Samsung C&T, such as building the Matter Experience House at Raemian One Bailey. Building on this agreement, the two companies plan to collaborate even more closely to expand the 'first Matter smart home in Korea.'

Aqara Life expects to be able to provide an even richer smart home experience by presenting a variety of Matter devices to residents of apartments where Homeniq is applied.
