Leading the Home Platform Market
Samsung C&T Engineering & Construction Group (hereinafter Samsung C&T) plans to fully introduce ‘Homenic’ to Hanwha FOREANA, the residential brand of Hanwha Construction (hereinafter Hanwha Construction), and to cross-apply Hanwha’s next-generation electric vehicle charging system to Raemian.
On December 19, Samsung C&T signed a strategic partnership for smart residential technology cooperation with Hanwha Construction at the Hanwha Building in Janggyo-dong. Through this agreement, the home platform ‘Homenic’ will be introduced to Hanwha FOREANA, while Samsung C&T will apply Hanwha Construction’s electric vehicle charging system ‘EV Air Station’ to Raemian, with the aim of creating continued synergy between the two companies.
‘Homenic’ is a home platform that allows users to access all residential living services at once, including digital smart home services as well as cultural activities and health management. It recognizes users’ living patterns and can control home appliances and IoT devices throughout the home regardless of brand, and it is also expanding new services such as Apartment Care, which provides after-sales services like repairs and replacements to households in aging residential complexes.
In August 2023, ‘Homenic’ was first introduced at ‘Raemian One Bailey’ along with the launch of its dedicated app. Since then, it has been expanded to existing residential complexes and is currently actively used in some 50,000 households, establishing itself as an essential service that provides residents with a convenient and enriched life.
Samsung C&T plans to first apply the home platform ‘Homenic’ starting with Hanwha Construction’s ‘Hanwha FOREANA Busan Dangni’ complex. Based on this agreement, Samsung C&T intends to continue expanding the adoption of ‘Homenic’ to apartments of other brands as well, and to advance the service by actually customizing and applying its various functions.
In addition, Samsung C&T plans to pilot Hanwha Construction’s electric vehicle charging system ‘EV Air Station’ at ‘Raemian Songdo Station Centripol.’ The ‘EV Air Station’ is a next-generation electric vehicle charging system in which the connector descends from the ceiling. It maximizes space utilization by enabling up to three vehicles to be charged simultaneously with a single charger, and is also notable for reducing installation costs by about 60% compared to existing systems.
The signing ceremony was attended by some 20 officials, including Park Min-yong, Head of the Development Business Division at Samsung C&T, and Kim Min-seok, Head of the Building Business Division at Hanwha Construction, who shared details about each company’s strategic products. Through this partnership, the two companies plan to provide differentiated customer experiences by developing various strategic products and cooperating on smart residential technology beyond ‘Homenic’ and ‘EV Air Station.’
