Samsung C&T Engineering & Construction Group teams up with three smart-health startups
Online-based healthcare services to be provided to apartment complexes
Samsung C&T Engineering & Construction Group (hereinafter Samsung C&T) announced that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with three smart-health startups to build a strategic partnership.
On May 12, at the Raemian Gallery in Munjeong-dong, Songpa-gu, Seoul, Samsung C&T signed an MOU with three companies—Dr.Diary, MDSquare, and Healnix Positive (in Korean alphabetical order). Moving beyond the facility-based services such as fitness centers that construction firms have traditionally offered, the company plans to provide online-based smart healthcare services to its apartment complexes.
Attending the signing ceremony were Dr.Diary CEO Song Je-yoon, MDSquare CEO Oh Su-hwan, and Healnix Positive CEO Choi Doo-ah, along with Samsung C&T Engineering & Construction Group Executive Vice President Kim Myung-seok (Head of the Housing Division) and Managing Director Cho Hye-jung (Head of the Life Solution Division).
Dr.Diary, MDSquare, and Healnix Positive are startups that provide app-based exercise and dietary coaching services to prevent and improve chronic conditions such as diabetes, being overweight, and high blood pressure. Through this agreement, the four companies will carry out joint marketing for the health management of Raemian residents and will collaborate on developing various healthcare services going forward.
Samsung C&T plans to provide smart healthcare services through its home platform starting with Raemian One Bailey, scheduled for occupancy in the second half of this year. The company is currently piloting the services with customers at some occupied complexes and plans to incorporate their feedback.
Cho Hye-jung, Managing Director at Samsung C&T, said, “Through online-based smart healthcare services, we plan to provide Raemian customers with a healthy lifestyle and to actively pursue mutual growth with startups that possess specialized solutions,” adding, “Going forward, we will expand into a variety of healthcare service offerings and broaden the customer experience through applications such as senior living projects.”
