On September 29 and 30, volunteer activities resumed at a construction site after two years
Since 2011, employees and customers have taken part in Habitat for Humanity Korea's home-building
Stanley Black & Decker Korea (CEO Hong Sung-wan), the world's largest tool company, has resumed volunteer activities at a home-building construction site run by Habitat for Humanity Korea, a nonprofit dedicated to housing welfare. It marks a return after a two-year hiatus, having participated in Habitat for Humanity Korea's home-building volunteer work since 2011 before pausing due to COVID-19.
Habitat for Humanity Korea is manufacturing modular homes in Cheonan, Chungcheongnam-do, to provide long-term housing for victims who lost their homes in the recent East Coast wildfires. Stanley Black & Decker's home-building volunteer activities took place over two days, on September 29 and 30, to provide active hands-on support with the actual construction work and to offer participating DEWALT customers a positive brand experience. On the first day, 15 headquarters employees took part, and on the second day, employees and 15 customers of DEWALT — the professional-grade power tool brand — joined the volunteer activities together.
As a global company fulfilling its social responsibility, Stanley Black & Decker has continuously sponsored Habitat for Humanity Korea's 'Building Homes of Hope' project since 2011, providing its full lineup of tools including DEWALT, STANLEY, and BLACK+DECKER, while its employees and customers have taken part in home-building volunteer work together.
Hong Sung-wan, CEO of Stanley Black & Decker Korea, said, "It is especially meaningful to be able to once again carry out the Habitat for Humanity Korea home-building volunteer activities that we had no choice but to suspend due to the COVID-19 pandemic," adding, "I am delighted that this volunteer activity gave us the opportunity to meet our customers in person after a long time. Going forward, we will continue to actively participate in a wide range of social activities that leverage the Stanley Black & Decker brand, including improving housing environments."
