Participates in charity fashion show & bazaar to build a rest area for haenyeo (women divers) on Jeju Island
Donates 100 Black & Decker products in total and contributes all sales proceeds
Stanley Black & Decker Korea (CEO Hong Sung-wan), the world's largest tool company, took part in the "2024 Women Build Charity Fashion Show & Bazaar to Establish a Haenyeo Rest Area on Jeju Island," hosted by the Women's Committee of Habitat for Humanity Korea, selling a total of 100 Black & Decker cordless handheld vacuum cleaners and cordless lights and donating all of the proceeds.
Stanley Black & Decker participated in the "2024 Women Build Charity Fashion Show & Bazaar to Establish a Haenyeo Rest Area on Jeju Island," held at Grand Walkerhill Seoul. As bazaar items, the company sold 80 units of the Black & Decker "12V MAX Cordless Handheld Vacuum (DVJ315B)," which offers powerful suction and convenient cleaning of narrow gaps, and 20 units of the "2-in-1 Cordless Light (BDCFSL01)," whose flexible design makes it suitable for indoor mood lighting as well as outdoor activities such as camping, fishing, and hiking. The entire sales proceeds were donated toward establishing the haenyeo rest area on Jeju Island.
Now in its 17th year, Habitat for Humanity Korea's Women Build event brings together women active in various fields to hold fashion shows and bazaars that raise construction funds for women facing housing difficulties. First held in 2001 to spread a culture of sharing, the event has to date improved the housing conditions of more than 27 multicultural and single-parent households at home and abroad. This year's event was carried out to raise construction funds for the Jeju Island haenyeo rest area. Stanley Black & Decker has consistently taken part in Habitat for Humanity Korea's various social contribution activities, including participating in the Women Build fundraising bazaar and volunteering to build a mobile home in 2023. In particular, since 2010, through numerous construction projects and housing improvement activities, the company has donated its own tools, vacuum cleaners, and charity bazaar proceeds amounting to a cumulative total of 603 million won.
In addition, this past May, Stanley Black & Decker carried out a "mobile home building" volunteer activity together with Kookmin University's homebuilt-car club "KORA" at the construction training site of Habitat School in Cheonan, South Chungcheong Province. Unlike previous volunteer activities aimed at actual users working in industries such as woodworking and construction, this year marked the first time the company took part alongside students from related industry departments, who learned proper tool usage and carried out actual volunteer work, making for a meaningful experience.
