Hyundai Elevator
Robot Delivery at Chungju Headquarters

Hyundai Elevator is accelerating the commercialization of its elevator-robot integration service. The company has officially launched a service in which robots deliver beverages, snacks, and other items sold at the café on the first floor of its Chungju headquarters. When a customer orders a desired product using a dedicated app installed on their mobile phone, the robot delivers it right to each employee's individual desk on their respective floor. The limitation of robot delivery, which had previously been confined to horizontal movement, has now been expanded to vertical movement through the use of elevators. The newly launched robot delivery service can handle up to two orders and transport 20 beverages at the same time.
Hyundai Elevator officially began the service on the 14th following a two-week trial run. The response from employees has been enthusiastic. First of all, it has eliminated the time spent waiting in line at the café. Employees appear satisfied with having their beverages delivered conveniently right to their desks or to meeting rooms. The novelty of seeing something once only witnessed in movies become a reality also plays a part. Hyundai Elevator plans to fully commercialize the service by leveraging its cutting-edge elevator-robot integration technology. Some 40 delivery robots are already in service at numerous hospitals, hotels, and banks using Hyundai Elevator systems.
The related industry is also moving quickly. Hyundai Elevator continues to receive a stream of overtures, including business agreements, centered on numerous construction companies and robot manufacturers. In fact, at some housing sales sites, developers are highlighting that, through technology partnership agreements with Hyundai Elevator, robots will deliver various items from apartment community centers directly to individual households.
A Hyundai Elevator official stated, "For robot delivery, which had been limited to horizontal movement, to expand into vertical movement, integration with elevators is essential," adding, "Since Hyundai Elevator's elevator-robot integration technology has already reached the commercialization stage, we will continue to provide services of an even higher level."
