Achieves top 1% performance in the electronic equipment and components sector
Earns perfect scores in 56 categories, including climate change strategy and risk management
Signify (formerly Philips Lighting), a global lighting company leading the way in connected lighting, has been named to the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI)—a globally recognized and trusted ESG evaluation index—for the fifth consecutive year.
The DJSI is a global corporate evaluation standard jointly developed by S&P Dow Jones Indices, the largest financial information provider in the United States, and RobecoSAM, a Swiss sustainability assessment specialist. Through evaluations that take economic, environmental, and social aspects into account, it serves as an indicator of corporate sustainability and socially responsible investment.
Signify received top-tier scores in this evaluation, once again confirming its position as a leading company in the sustainability sector. In particular, it earned a perfect score of 100 in 56 categories—including climate change strategy and risk management, product design and innovation, human rights, and diversity policy—achieving the notable distinction of ranking in the top 1% of the electronic equipment and components sector.
Last year, Signify announced its new sustainability program, "Brighter Lives, Better World 2025," and is now implementing it in the field. Recently, the company has continued its efforts to create a positive impact on the environment and society, including urging global and business leaders to switch from conventional incandescent bulbs to energy-efficient connected LED lighting in order to accelerate decarbonization and promote digitalization.
More recently, Signify has been carrying out a variety of initiatives for sustainable and effective operations, such as supplying 8,941 3D-printed downlight fixtures—which have a 75% smaller carbon footprint than conventional metal fixtures—to El Dorado International Airport in Bogotá, Colombia, to reduce carbon emissions, and retrofitting more than 14,000 fixtures to LED to lower the airport's power consumption.
