IKEA Korea

Strengthening Sustainable Business

Home furnishing retail company IKEA Korea has announced its key achievements from the past year and a new brand campaign, 'Renew Your Life,' to mark the start of its 2022 fiscal year. IKEA Korea had declared the previous fiscal year the 'Year of Sustainability,' undertaking a range of efforts to enable more people to practice sustainable activities and take part in the changes needed for climate action and an inclusive society.

In the new fiscal year, through its brand campaign 'Renew Your Life,' the company plans to carry out various activities so that more people can discover a new self within a broader concept of home—my home, our local community, and everyone's planet—and build a happier, more meaningful everyday life. In addition, by further strengthening the omnichannel shopping experience that delivers a more convenient and enjoyable shopping journey across all online and offline customer touchpoints, IKEA will offer not only its home furnishing products and solutions at even lower prices, but also a more diverse and smarter range of services. In particular, the company will continue to invest in sustainability in order to achieve IKEA's goal of becoming a climate-positive business by 2030.

Fredrik Johansson, CEO of IKEA Korea, said, "In the past fiscal year, IKEA Korea recorded sales of 683.6 billion won (+3.4% YoY, a projected figure through August 31 as of August 25) and a total of 70 million visitors, and laid the cornerstone of a company leading in sustainability through achievements such as expanding sustainable products to 36% of all products and reaching 25% electric-vehicle furniture delivery." He added, "In fiscal year 2022, we will present an upgraded shopping experience along with reasonably priced IKEA products and services for a successful transition to an omnichannel business, and we will work to help more people begin a sustainable and happy everyday life."
