Realizing a smart home conveniently and affordably
Door locks, curtains, light switches, and even video doorbells all at once
AIoT company Aqara Life (CEO Song Hee-kyung) has launched a ‘Total Installation Service’ for general consumers. This service expands the scope of installation to cover not only the existing smart door locks and smart curtains, but also light switches and smart video doorbells.
With the establishment of the Matter standard and major domestic home appliance companies focusing on expanding the AIoT market, consumer interest in and demand for smart homes is surging. In response, Aqara Life has introduced this Total Installation Service to enhance customer convenience and accelerate the spread of AIoT. Through this, Aqara Life plans to provide customers with an even more convenient and reasonable installation experience. Since its founding in 2019, Aqara Life has introduced a variety of AIoT services and solutions to the domestic market, earning a positive response from users. In particular, the ‘Smart Door Lock K100,’ released late last year, sold out entirely right after a collaboration with IT-focused YouTuber ITSub, and has recorded cumulative sales of 5,000 units to date, achieving significant success in the domestic IoT door lock market, which remains relatively unfamiliar in Korea. The smart light switch, which has established itself as a bestseller, has also recorded cumulative sales of 34,000 units, contributing to the expansion of smart homes.
Aqara Life has launched a Total Installation Service that allows multiple AIoT devices to be installed at once. This lets customers avoid the inconvenience of having different installation technicians visit multiple times, and complete all installations in a single visit. In addition, since this service does not charge duplicate call-out fees, customers can enjoy greater cost savings the more devices they install at once.
The ‘smart light switch’ and ‘smart video doorbell,’ for which customer demand was high but no installation option had been offered, will also begin receiving installation support with the launch of this service.
The launch of Aqara Life’s Total Installation Service is expected to have a positive impact on the spread of AIoT technology. While smart home technology makes our lives more convenient and efficient, many consumers have hesitated to adopt it due to the inconvenience of initial installation and the burden of cost. However, the Total Installation Service is expected to lower these barriers, helping consumers adopt AIoT devices more easily and promoting the growth of the AIoT market.
Oh Bo-myeong, director of Aqara Life’s CX Division, said, “This service was designed to provide customers with greater convenience and to lower the barriers to adopting AIoT technology,” adding, “Customers can now install a variety of AIoT devices at once at a low cost, allowing them to build a smart home environment even more conveniently.”
Aqara Life’s AIoT Total Installation Service is currently available on the official Aqara Life mall, and is also scheduled to launch on Samsung.com this coming September. Detailed information can be found on Aqara Life’s official website and through its customer center.
