Pantone Paint, Soon&Soo All Cover

Noroo Paint has sponsored Pantone Paint for “Edward Hopper: On the Road,” the first solo exhibition in Korea of the 20th-century American realist painter Edward Hopper.

The exhibition features around 270 works in total, including 222 Hopper paintings held by the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York, along with 160 paintings and some 100 archival items. As the largest exhibition held in Korea in the first half of this year—following the success of the 2019 “David Hockney” show, which drew 300,000 visitors—it is generating tremendous anticipation among exhibition enthusiasts, with 100,000 early-bird tickets already sold out.

Through prior consultation, Noroo Paint and the host, the Seoul Museum of Art, applied Pantone Paint Multi products and Soon&Soo All Cover products to the space styling in line with the characteristics of Edward Hopper’s works and the exhibition space. To allow visitors to view the works in a comfortable environment, Soon&Soo All Cover (WT 1009 Brush Ivory) was used as the overall base, while each section’s space featured Pantone Paint, which boasts a distinctive sense of color across more than 2,600 refined hues. In particular, the art shop where visitors can purchase souvenirs was finished in the green-based pastel-tone Pantone Paint color Basil (16-6216), suited to a trendy sensibility.

The exhibition runs through August 20 at the Seoul Museum of Art’s Seosomun Main Building.

Meanwhile, the Edward Hopper exhibition art shop is selling COVER ALL Vol.07, published by Noroo Paint’s NSDS (Noroo Paint Seoul Design Studio). COVER ALL is a color and design trend book that proposes mid- to long-term directions and strategies for color, materials, and design.

A Noroo Paint official said, “We are delighted to be part of the exhibition of Edward Hopper, a painter who represents 20th-century America and is known as one of the most beloved artists among Americans,” adding, “Going forward, we plan to pursue various collaborations with the culture and arts world through our distinctive color technology.”
