Partnering with IKEA Korea to Roll Out Installation Services in Earnest
Covering the Seoul, Gyeonggi, Chungcheong, Busan and Gyeongnam Regions
Yujin Home Center held a business agreement ceremony on the morning of June 3 at IKEA Korea's headquarters in Gwangmyeong, Gyeonggi Province, where it unveiled its bathroom and kitchen installation services.
Through this agreement, Ace Hardware will provide installation services to customers who purchase IKEA kitchen and bathroom products, drawing on the expertise it has built up through its bathroom, kitchen and interior-door installation services as well as its own specialist installation workforce.
Ace Hardware will operate IKEA's bathroom installation service on an exclusive basis. The service will be available in the Seoul, Gyeonggi, Chungcheong, Busan and Gyeongnam regions. In addition, for select items not carried by IKEA—such as toilets, bathtubs, partitions and tiles—customers can also purchase Ace Hardware products.
The kitchen installation service will be offered to customers in the Seoul and Gyeonggi metropolitan area who use the IKEA Gwangmyeong store and the IKEA Planning Studio locations in Sindorim and Cheonho. For select items other than the kitchen furniture sold by IKEA—such as range hoods and cooktops—customers can purchase Ace Hardware products.
Customers who wish to use the installation service can apply for planning at an IKEA store and then proceed through a consultation with the relevant consultant.
Since March of last year, Ace Hardware has been offering home-repair installation services for bathrooms, kitchens and other areas that require professional installation, earning a positive response from customers.
An Ace Hardware official said, "Because bathrooms and kitchens require installation expertise, many consumers struggle with DIY interior work," adding, "We hope customers will complete the perfect home interior with Ace Hardware's trusted installation services and IKEA's great-value products."
Meanwhile, Ace Hardware, with its 100-year history, is the world's largest home-repair specialty brand, with more than 6,000 stores across some 70 countries worldwide. In Korea, it opened its Geumcheon store in Seoul in 2018, followed by stores in Yongsan, Ilsan and Toegyewon, and most recently in Nowon. In addition, to spread an advanced DIY home-repair culture in Korea, the company plans to run educational programs that beginners can easily learn from, such as paint workshops and furniture-assembly classes.
