Carrier Air Conditioning has signed a supply contract with the state government's Department of Education in Colorado, U.S., and will export 34,000 air purifiers worth some ₩14 billion.
As in-person classes at U.S. schools, which had been suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic, fully reopened, the importance of a clean school environment came to the fore. In response, the Colorado Department of Education adopted Carrier air purifiers to protect children's health and ensure a virus-free school life. Carrier Air Conditioning began delivery in March, with all units scheduled to be delivered by June.
The air purifiers Carrier Air Conditioning currently sells in the U.S. have been certified for their air-cleaning performance by AHAM (Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers), the U.S. trade association of home appliance manufacturers. AHAM is a U.S. organization that sets the technical standards for measuring the performance of various home appliances (air purifiers, dehumidifiers, air cleaners, and more). AHAM's verification program serves to enhance consumer confidence in products and to guarantee product quality.
With a 360-degree power intake function, Carrier air purifiers keep the entire indoor space—from floor to ceiling—a clean zone. The purifying airflow can be finely adjusted across 18 levels, ranging from Level 1's gentle baby-clean breeze for children, to Level 5's low-noise Human Care mode for exam takers, up to Level 18's ultra-powerful hurricane clean breeze. In particular, the ultra-powerful Zeus fan creates a faster, more powerful circulating airflow, delivering outstanding air-cleaning performance.
A Carrier Air Conditioning official said, "Going forward, we plan to expand into the public-institution market, such as education offices across the U.S., through cooperation with Carrier's U.S. headquarters," adding, "Using this entry into U.S. schools as a springboard, we intend to strengthen our firm foothold in the U.S. air purifier market."
