Eagon Windows & Doors announced that, amid the news of the movie Parasite's four-title triumph at the Academy Awards, it is once again the talk of the town, as the windows and interior doors used at the Parasite filming location have been identified as Eagon Windows & Doors products.
The Park family's luxurious mansion in the film—commonly known as the 'Parasite House'—is an open set built to resemble an actual grand residence, so as to starkly illustrate the gap between rich and poor that runs through the film's central theme. It is praised for its outstanding detail and realism, so much so that Alejandro González Iñárritu, who chaired the jury at the 72nd Cannes Film Festival, asked director Bong Joon-ho, "How did you find such a perfect house?" Eagon Windows & Doors, Korea's leading system window and door company, installed the windows, doors, and interior doors at this set, helping to perfectly realize the luxury mansion in the film.
In recent interviews with various media outlets, director Bong Joon-ho revealed that he paid attention to every single exterior finishing material applied to the set. In particular, in one film magazine, he explained the production background of the film based on his own personal experience, saying, "When you go to a poor neighborhood, you hear dozens of layers of noise, whereas a luxury apartment—even by the riverside—has something like Eagon system windows, so you can't hear any traffic noise at all."
Eagon Windows & Doors personally carried out the installation of the windows, doors, and interior doors at the Parasite set located at the Jeonju Cinema Complex. Although it was a set, word has it that it was completed with the same construction period and quality as building a real house. In particular, to complete a layout in which the garden is visible at a glance from the living room, the company specially manufactured extra-large windows and single-pane glass that would be difficult to apply in an ordinary home. Moreover, drawing on its 30 years of technical know-how, Eagon Windows & Doors directly manufactured and supported the installation of windows and single-pane glass so heavy that they were difficult even to transport.
The aluminum system door 'ADS 70 HI' supplied by Eagon Windows & Doors is a product mainly applied to luxury homes and to hotels and commercial facilities such as the Seamarq Hotel, Sono Village, and Healing Stay Kosmos. In the film, it was used for the doors of the Park family's living room and kitchen. To depict a wealthy home where, gallery-like, a picturesque garden can be seen through the full-height windows and sunlight streams in, large fixed windows were used, with Eagon Windows & Doors' European-style aluminum system door 'ADS 70 HI' placed to one side.
In the hallway leading from the entrance of the Park family's mansion to the living room, 'S-SYNCHRO' from Eagon Raum—Eagon Windows & Doors' slim interior door brand—was used. Featuring a modern and refined design achieved through slim aluminum frames and design glass, it combines convenience, stability, and aesthetics, with the hardware concealed within the upper rail. The product appears in the scene where Ki-woo, the eldest son of the Ki-taek family, first visits the Park family's house, representing the taste of a wealthy home that prefers luxurious high-end products. In addition, as a synchronized sliding door in which opening and closing one side simultaneously opens and closes the other, it also expressed the everyday life of the upper class, minimizing hassles such as having to turn a handle and pull.
