Schneider Electric Korea Signs Contract with KM POWER
Supply of Premium Calcium Sulfate Panels Expected to Expand Market Share
Schneider Electric Korea (Korea Country President Kim Kyung-rok), a global company leading digital innovation in the energy management and automation sectors, has signed a contract with KM POWER (CEO Kim Jong-eok) to supply and install raised access flooring for a new office building being constructed by KCC Construction in Gangnam, Seoul.
Intelligent buildings use raised access flooring to accommodate free rewiring and to create a flexible office environment amid frequent layout changes during construction. In particular, when an office space uses an underfloor air-conditioning system, raised access flooring must be installed, and calcium sulfate panels are the optimal product for such underfloor air-conditioning systems. These panels are unaffected by changes in indoor temperature and humidity, making them suitable for use in conjunction with air-conditioning systems.
For this project, raised access flooring (Raised Access Floor_30KFO) produced by ‘Uniflair,’ Schneider Electric’s brand for raised access flooring and underfloor air conditioning, will be used. The Uniflair 30KFO is a high-density core product with a calcium sulfate core of 1,500 ㎏/㎥, offering the highest load-bearing capacity among calcium sulfate panels along with superior precision, workability, and moisture resistance. The raised access flooring, produced at Schneider Electric’s plant in Italy, is also a product that has received the highest fire-resistance rating in Europe.
The building spans from 6 basement levels to 19 above-ground floors, with a gross floor area of 4,930,073.96 ㎡, and the raised access flooring will be applied to approximately 25,000 ㎡ of the office space areas. Schneider Electric Korea will handle product maintenance, quality assurance, and technical support, while KM POWER will be responsible for the supply and installation of the raised access flooring.
A KCC Construction official stated, “Befitting a premium intelligent building located in Gangnam, this building features the finest materials,” adding, “The Schneider Electric Uniflair raised access flooring used in the floor construction, with its European production and high quality, will be able to provide customers with yet another differentiated experience.”
Kim Byung-jin, General Manager at Schneider Electric Korea, said, “As underfloor air-conditioning systems—which offer excellent space utilization and make it easy to optimize for external building factors—continue to increase in commercial buildings, demand for raised access flooring made with calcium sulfate cores is expected to grow,” and added, “Schneider Electric will support our customers’ businesses through prompt product maintenance, quality assurance, and technical support.”
