Chunwoo to sell entire lineup of Sungchang Maru brand 'LIEU' on consignment
Roughly 100,000㎡ (about 30,000 pyeong) in stock, with samples of each product displayed at the Incheon warehouse
Chunwoo Co., Ltd. has taken on consignment the entire lineup of 'LIEU,' a flooring brand from Sungchang Maru, and will run a promotion offering steeply discounted prices to mark the spring and moving season.
The discount event will run for two months, during April and May when the moving season is in full swing, with markdowns of more than half off standard flooring prices, supplying the products at prices lower than sheet flooring, laminate flooring, or deco tile.
As Sungchang Corporation—which had run its flooring business under the LIEU design brand—wound down that business, Chunwoo took over the sales rights in the second half of last year to some 132,200㎡ (about 40,000 pyeong) of flooring products, and has been supplying them to the market at reasonable prices.
About 100,000㎡ (roughly 30,000 pyeong) of inventory currently remains, spanning a wide range of patterns and specifications, from 75㎜ ondol flooring to 105㎜ brushed flooring, design flooring, and hardwood flooring. Chunwoo operates a per-product sample room at its Incheon warehouse so that consumers can see the colors and designs of the products with their own eyes. In addition, visitors can view in person the premium natural wallpaper and furniture that were supplied under the LIEU design brand, all available for sale and distribution at low prices.
The main products include the LIEU brand's A Series, B Series, T1/T2 Series, M Series, and H Series. The A Series is flooring that applies a Semi-Open Pore Coating process to natural ash veneer to render the natural grain in three dimensions, while the B Series is a high-grade premium flooring that embosses the grain of natural wood to create a visually three-dimensional effect, preserving the wood texture just as it is in nature. The T2 Series is a product that designs the wood grain in three dimensions through the TH (Texturized Hardwood) process, which preserves the grain of natural wood as it is, and the M Series is a design flooring with a beautiful, distinctive character that brings vitality through diverse combinations of natural wood grains.
'LIEU,' which means space in French, is a premium design flooring brand that proposes a variety of flooring styles based on natural wood materials, transforming the floor—the centerpiece of spatial design—into the most enjoyable and happy living space through LIEU design flooring.
Chunwoo CEO Woo Hyo-young explained, "We are closely watching the unstable state of flooring supply brought on by the recent instability in plywood raw material supply and sharp price increases, and in response we aim to secure stable materials and supply competitive ondol plywood flooring by offering plywood flooring at affordable prices," adding, "However, given the nature of the products, popular items such as high-quality hardwood, brushed, and design flooring may sell out early, so prompt inspection and purchase are advised." Chunwoo added that since additional discounts are possible for large purchase volumes, it would be wise to act quickly.
