‘Next-day delivery’ product range greatly expanded from around 30 to 700 items
Delivery date can be designated as desired, from a minimum of 1 day up to a maximum of 30 days
Hanssem announced that it is fully expanding the ‘next-day delivery’ system it had been running since the first half of last year, as the online market has grown even larger amid the recent expansion of untact (non-face-to-face) consumption driven by COVID-19.
Hanssem Co., Ltd. (CEO Kang Seung-soo), a comprehensive home interior specialty company, is launching its ‘My Way Delivery’ service on its online ‘Hanssem Mall,’ which allows customers to freely choose furniture delivery and installation dates from a minimum of 1 day up to a maximum of 30 days.
Recently, next-day and same-day delivery services have been becoming common, primarily in social commerce, but for furniture products that require installation by specialized installation technicians, coordinating the installation schedule is necessary, so it often takes a long time of one to two weeks or more to receive the product.
In February last year, Hanssem became the first in the industry to introduce a ‘next-day delivery’ service—limited to certain products on its online mall ‘Hanssem Mall’—that allows customers to order today and receive their furniture the next day. Now that the system for the ‘next-day delivery’ service is in place, starting in July 2020 the company is expanding the lineup of items eligible for the existing ‘next-day delivery’ service and broadening operations into the ‘My Way Delivery’ service, which allows customers to designate the delivery and installation of Hanssem furniture on any desired date from a minimum of 1 day up to within 30 days. In keeping with the characteristics of a home interior company, Hanssem has introduced a new service that provides delivery and installation together even online and even allows customers to designate the date.
First, the models eligible for next-day delivery and installation after ordering have been expanded to a total of four items—from the existing ‘Saem Bookcase’ and ‘Saemkids Storage Cabinet’ to the ‘Momoro Baby Cabinet’ and ‘Bona Baby Cabinet.’ Including furniture in various sizes and colors as well as storage accessories, the number has increased from around 30 to about 700 items.
The delivery period for wardrobes and dressing rooms, which used to take an average of 7 days or more, has also been shortened to a minimum of 2 days. After ordering a product, customers go through a brief phone consultation about the installation space and product size, and installation can then take place as early as the very next day. The existing service allowing customers to designate a delivery date up to 30 days out has been made selectable by finer time slots—morning and afternoon—improving the inconvenience for customers who had to take a full day off or were unable to go out to match the furniture installation day. Being able to designate the furniture delivery date in advance to fit one’s moving plans is another advantage.
This kind of delivery and installation system is possible for Hanssem because its logistics centers located across the country and ‘Service One,’ Hanssem’s specialized installation company, have secured long-standing know-how and competitiveness in furniture logistics, delivery, and installation.
Hanssem said that, in order to provide customers with smooth delivery service, it has expanded its dedicated next-day-arrival installation team to more than three times its previous size, and that it plans to gradually expand the ‘My Way Delivery’ service—currently offered across all of Seoul and in parts of Gyeonggi and Incheon—to the entire country. In addition, the company is opening an online-only logistics center for joint delivery not only of its own products but also of products from vendors that have set up shop on Hanssem Mall.
