Bathroom company THE INUS, antibacterial solution company SD Lab Korea
Exclusive distribution and planned sales of Snow antibacterial filters for multi-purifiers
THE INUS (CEO Hong Seung-ryeol), a bathroom specialty company, signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to strengthen bathroom hygiene with SD Lab Korea (CEO Kim Chang-ju), an antibacterial solution specialty company, at THE INUS headquarters in Gangnam, Seoul.
Through this agreement, the two companies agreed to apply the Snow antibacterial filter—incorporating SD Lab Korea's technology—to THE INUS's bathroom multi-purifier, with THE INUS holding exclusive rights to distribute and sell the filter in the domestic bathroom market.
The dedicated bathroom multi-purifier that THE INUS and SD Lab Korea will jointly develop and produce is a more hygiene-focused product that, unlike air purifiers with filters that provide deodorization, filtration, and fine-dust removal, applies an antibacterial filter that also filters out microorganisms, bacteria, and mold.
Park Young-sun, head of THE INUS's Business Operations Division, said, "Through the meeting of THE INUS, a bathroom brand specialty company, and SD Lab Korea, a next-generation antibacterial solution specialty company, we will strive to contribute to enjoyable and safe bathroom life for domestic consumers," adding, "Through collaboration between the specialized fields of each industry, we plan to do our best to develop products that lead new markets and to expand our business."
Kim Chang-ju, CEO of SD Lab Korea, said, "As interest in 'hygiene' has grown recently, consumers increasingly seek products that emphasize antibacterial effects directly in their everyday lives," adding, "I am pleased to join THE INUS in charting a future direction for safe bathroom life based on the concept of hygiene that COVID-19 has changed."
Meanwhile, THE INUS, founded in 1975, is one of Korea's leading bathroom brands, producing bathroom ceramics, tiles, washbasins, toilets, urinals, faucets, showerheads, and more. Recently, it has established itself as a powerhouse in bathroom remodeling beyond simply producing bathroom products, and it is attempting another round of growth in the B2C sector, led by innovative technology and high-quality design. In September 2020, it was acquired by E&F Private Equity (E&F PE), a private equity fund (PEF) management firm, and became independent as INUS Co., Ltd.
