inus bath, the bathroom remodeling specialty brand of IS Dongseo (CEO Kwon Min-seok), a comprehensive construction and building-materials company led by CEO Kwon Min-seok, announced on August 23 the results of a survey conducted on the theme of "When do you want to change your home's bathroom?"
For this survey, IS Dongseo commissioned a professional research firm to survey 1,000 married men and women aged 35 to 59 living in the Seoul and Gyeonggi regions. When asked whether they were planning a bathroom remodel, a majority of 67% answered "yes." When asked about the scope of the bathroom remodel they were planning, 62% said they were planning a full bathroom remodel, while 38% said they were planning partial bathroom repairs. As recent government regulations, along with a broader economic downturn beyond the construction industry, have combined to reduce home sales, demand for partially remodeling existing aging homes has grown instead, and this appears to have influenced demand for bathroom remodeling as well.
The moment that most makes people want to change their bathroom was "when problems such as leaks occur due to an aging apartment," which ranked first at 32%. This was followed by "when seeing discolored sanitary ware, cracked tiles, or an outdated bathroom design" (18%), "when comparing with the bathrooms of friends and acquaintances" (11%), and "when hosting a housewarming or inviting guests over" (9%). Given the regional characteristic of many old apartments, breakdowns in aging bathrooms, worn-out fixtures and faucets, and dated interiors were found to be the main reasons people consider bathroom remodeling.
An inus bath official said, "While aging apartments and homes continue to increase, restrictions on home sales are growing, so more consumers are looking to partially remodel their living spaces as needed," adding, "In line with this trend, inus bath offers services ranging from its 'Semi-Remodeling Package' to its 'Bathroom Remodeling Package' and 'Bathroom Remodeling My Way,' striving to satisfy the diverse demands and needs of consumers."
