A design competition using POSCO Steelion's color-coated steel sheets
Open to university students; entries accepted from August 28 to September 3
POSCO Steelion (President and CEO Yoon Yang-soo) announced that it will hold the ‘With POSCO Steel Design’ competition, themed around color-coated steel sheets.
POSCO Steelion has held a design competition every year since 2019. This year, marking the fifth edition, the event is co-hosted by its client Seungil Networks along with POSCO group companies including POSCO, POSCO E&C, and POSCO A&C.
The theme of the competition is to develop product designs for ‘INNOVILT,’ POSCO Group's premium building material, using POSCO Steelion's color-coated steel sheet ‘INFINeLI.’ POSCO grants ‘INNOVILT’ certification to premium building materials made from POSCO or POSCO Steelion steel, following a review process. Accordingly, the main purpose of this competition is to develop INNOVILT steel building materials made from POSCO Steelion products.
In detail, participants are asked to propose interior designs such as art walls and partitions that make use of the advantages of color-coated steel sheets. Eligibility is open to university and graduate students with an interest in design, who may enter either individually or as a team of two.
Entries will be accepted from August 28 to September 3, and a total of 26 works will be selected from the submissions through expert evaluation.
Following the final review, the grand prize winner will receive a cash prize of 7 million won and an internship opportunity at POSCO Steelion. Details on how to enter and about the competition can be found on POSCO Steelion's website.
Meanwhile, POSCO Steelion traces its origins to Pohang Coated Steel, which was established in 1988 in Complex 1 of the Pohang Steel Industrial Complex as a manufacturer of galvanized and aluminum-coated steel sheets with an annual production capacity of 300,000 tons. The company produces coated steel sheet products and color-coated steel sheet products, supplying them to the building materials, automotive, and home appliance markets, and launched its premium color-coated steel sheet brand INFINeLI in 2021.
