Wincheol announced on the 4th that it has signed a strategic business partnership with VEKA, a German company specializing in system windows and doors. Backed by top-tier technology and quality, VEKA is the world's No. 1 company in system window and door sales, and was the first in the world to develop PVC system windows and doors.
Through this partnership, Wincheol plans to introduce VEKA's flagship premium line, which offers ultra-high thermal insulation performance, to the Korean market. By strategically collaborating with the No. 1 company recognized for its technology on the global market, Wincheol plans to actively pursue joint marketing as well as strengthen its push into the premium apartment market.

In addition, Wincheol has set out to develop eco-friendly smart windows and doors capable of detecting fine dust and environmental hormones. To this end, it signed a technology transfer agreement with Pusan National University for an "artificial nose technology" capable of detecting specific substances, and has begun developing smart windows and doors that can detect harmful substances in the atmosphere.
The "artificial nose technology" is a patented technology developed by Pusan National University's Phage Metamaterial Research Group. It is a system that detects trace compounds at the ppb (parts per billion) level, which the human nose cannot perceive. With a color-sensor structure that changes color when it reacts with specific substances, it can distinguish not only whether a substance is present but also what type it is.
Compared to existing sensor technologies, it can detect substances with high sensitivity, and its relatively low production cost has earned it high marks in terms of usability. The "artificial nose technology" has also had its academic excellence recognized, being featured as the cover paper of "Chemical Science," a world-renowned chemistry journal published by the Royal Society of Chemistry in the UK.
Through this technology agreement, Wincheol plans to secure the core technology for smart sensors and, by combining it with its own industry-leading window and door technology, develop high-sensitivity smart windows and doors that can simultaneously detect fine dust and heavy metals in the atmosphere as well as environmental hormones indoors.
