EAGON Windows Co., Ltd. is launching its ‘SUPER Vacuum Glazing SUPER Upgrade’ event to commemorate the world’s first Passive House Institute (PHI) certification for its SUPER Vacuum Glazing.
Through June 30, EAGON Windows will offer customers who purchase windows the benefit of upgrading their glass option from 43㎜ triple glazing to ‘SUPER Vacuum Glazing.’ There are no restrictions on the point of purchase—any customer who buys windows through online or offline sales channels, including EAGON Windows brand showrooms, window retailers, and interior design shops nationwide, as well as the EAGON Store, is eligible.
EAGON Windows’ ‘SUPER Vacuum Glazing’ is a next-generation insulating glass in which the vacuum layer between the panes fundamentally blocks heat transfer. With outstanding thermal insulation and soundproofing performance, it boasts world-leading performance. It became the world’s first vacuum glazing to obtain the German Passive House Institute’s ‘Passive House Certification (PHI Component Certification),’ earning global recognition for its innovative technology.
Despite its slim thickness of 27.3㎜, ‘SUPER Vacuum Glazing’ achieves a thermal transmittance (U-value) of 0.36 W/㎡K—comparable to concrete (26㎝ thick)—helping to reduce heating and cooling costs. This is more than four times superior to the Low-E double glazing (1.76 W/㎡K) used as insulating glass in typical apartment windows. In particular, combining EAGON Windows’ system windows with ‘SUPER Vacuum Glazing’ creates an even more robust structure with excellent airtightness, maximizing the noise-blocking effect.
An EAGON Windows official stated, “To commemorate obtaining the world’s first Passive House certification in the vacuum glazing category from the globally authoritative German Passive House Institute, we have prepared this rewarding event for customers considering replacing their windows,” adding, “With the government’s zero-energy building policy steadily strengthening—including the revised building design standards that take effect this September—this will be a great opportunity for those planning to replace their windows.”
Further details on this event, which offers an upgrade to SUPER Vacuum Glazing, can be found on the EAGON Windows website (eagonstore.com) or through the call center (1522-1271).
Meanwhile, according to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport’s ‘Partial Amendment to the Energy-Saving Design Standards for Buildings,’ starting September 1, the thermal transmittance standards that determine window insulation performance will be strengthened to Passive House levels. As a result, the use of existing windows rated Energy Consumption Efficiency Grade 2 or lower will be restricted, and only windows rated Energy Consumption Efficiency Grade 1 (based on the Central Region 1 zone, thermal transmittance of 0.9 W/㎡K) may be installed in apartment housing.
