Sharing installation and design know-how for windows, doors, flooring and more, plus on-site expertise

Expanding a range of programs with the Seogyo-dong ‘EAGONHAUS’ as its hub

EAGON, a premium comprehensive building-materials company, has announced that it is fully resuming the ‘EAGON Academy’ as the pandemic transitions to an endemic phase.

When EAGON Group opened ‘EAGONHAUS,’ its company-operated showroom located in Seogyo-dong, Mapo-gu, in 2017, it established the ‘EAGON Academy’ as a space to foster networking through seminars, forums and other events with industry experts. Since 2018, the company has run educational programs on windows, doors, flooring and other architectural finishing materials for students majoring in architecture and interior design.

Educational activities, which had been temporarily suspended due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, resumed this year after three years as conditions shifted to an endemic phase. On March 29, some 50 students from the Department of Interior Design at Hyupsung University were invited for training on the distinctive features of each finishing material and the special considerations involved in their installation. In keeping with the program’s aim of ‘cultivating experts,’ the sessions drew on the specialized knowledge and know-how EAGON has built up over the past 50 years, allowing students to directly experience the various window, door and flooring products on display at the EAGONHAUS site and deepen their understanding of the overall curriculum.

A Hyupsung University student who took part in the training said, “I joined the program to gain more learning and understanding of the industry,” adding, “It was an especially valuable experience because it included EAGON’s own installation know-how for designing renowned overseas buildings and luxury homes—an area that can be considered a specialized field even within the industry.”

EAGON Group plans to actively expand special programs for university students majoring in architecture and interior design this year. By helping the future professionals of the architecture industry better understand key architectural finishing materials such as windows, doors, glass and flooring, and by passing on hands-on experience and know-how from construction sites, the company intends to contribute to nurturing domestic architecture and interior design talent through high-quality content.

Beyond the programs held for students, the company also plans to actively develop a variety of cultural event programs with EAGONHAUS as its base. It intends to use the space to share and communicate EAGON’s values with an even wider audience—through events that combine architectural culture and the arts, book-launch celebrations, communication activities for marketing and public relations, and cultural lectures for local residents.

The ‘EAGON Academy’ is open to students, institutions and organizations in any field within architecture and interior design, and can be arranged for groups of 10 or more participants. Further details and applications are available through inquiries on the company’s website.

An EAGON official explained, “Starting with the EAGON Academy, we are preparing programs so that even more people can visit EAGONHAUS and enjoy a diverse and rewarding experience,” adding, “We will take on an even greater role so that EAGONHAUS becomes not merely a space that displays our own products, but a venue where consumers, experts and businesses interact going forward.”
