Nationwide Tour Wraps Up Successfully
Bringing Culture and the Arts to Local Communities
EAGON (co-CEOs Park Seung-jun and Ahn Ki-myung), a comprehensive building-materials specialist, has successfully wrapped up the nationwide tour of the ‘34th EAGON Concert.’
Since 1990, EAGON has consistently held the ‘EAGON Concert,’ a free classical music series, to provide local communities with opportunities to enjoy culture and the arts.
Under the theme of ‘Embrace’—understanding one another through music and sharing feelings of joy and sorrow—the 34th EAGON Concert marked the official start of its nationwide tour with an opening performance at the Lotte Concert Hall in Seoul on October 13. From there, it held a total of six performances across five cities—the Seoul Arts Center, the Gwangju Arts Center, the Daegu Concert House, the Busan Geumjeong Cultural Center, and the Arts Center Incheon—all with free admission, delivering deeply moving musical experiences to audiences on site.
For this concert, the renowned German ensemble ‘Staatskapelle Berlin String Quartet’ joined EAGON in its commitment to sharing music with sincerity, taking part as the main performers and presenting an ensemble of the highest caliber. In the finale, ‘Yun Jeong-ok (尹貞玉) Arirang,’ chosen as the top prize winner in the ‘EAGON Concert Arirang Arrangement Competition,’ was introduced in a performance by the Staatskapelle Berlin String Quartet.
During the tour, a master class to nurture young musical talent was also held. On the 17th at the Gwangju Arts Center, the Staatskapelle Berlin String Quartet gave part-by-part lessons to gifted elementary and middle school violin and cello students from the Gwangju Campus of the Korea National Institute for the Gifted in Arts at the Korea National University of Arts, broadening their educational opportunities and, through simple ensemble playing, sharing a musical connection between the performers and the students.
Meanwhile, EAGON will hold an online performance on December 2 so that audiences can once again experience the moving power of the concert. The online performance is a recording of the live opening concert of the 34th EAGON Concert at the Lotte Concert Hall in Seoul, and will be broadcast simultaneously on the EAGON Concert YouTube channel and Arte TV, available for anyone to watch.
