Inus, the total living brand of IS Dongseo (CEO Kwon Min-seok), a comprehensive construction and building-materials company, announced that its waterproof bidet 'Steam'—which sprays steam of over 100°C at the touch of a button to even clean the nozzle—has more than doubled its sales in just two years since launch.
According to Inus's analysis of its own bidet sales data from online channels over the past three years, the waterproof bidet Steam accounted for 22% of sales, the highest among all nine products. Sales have also risen steadily each year, more than doubling in the two years since its launch in January 2017.
The waterproof bidet 'Steam' is the first product in Korea to feature a steam-cleaning nozzle. Simply holding the button for five seconds sprays steam of over 100°C onto the nozzle area, which is highly prone to contamination and bacterial growth, eliminating 99% of bacteria. The nozzle is made of full stainless steel, so it resists foreign matter and does not discolor, allowing for worry-free use.
Its waterproof function makes water cleaning easy, so it can be kept clean at all times. The waterproof bidet 'Steam' has an IPX6 waterproof rating, allowing it to withstand strong water pressure from all directions. The RF remote control, adopted in place of a control panel, also features an IPX7 waterproof rating, so there is no need to worry about malfunction even if it is dropped in water or washed with water.
It also excels in functionality. Rather than a water-tank system, it uses a direct-water system that enables cleansing with clean water, and its instant hot-water system reduces concerns about bacterial growth as well as power consumption. The short heating time allows hot water to be used for a long period, and its wide function enables fast cleansing of a broad area with a gentle stream. In addition, it is equipped with basic functions such as a heated seat, warm-air drying, child cleansing, a massage function, and moving cleansing.
An Inus official said, "Inus has been leading innovation in bidets, becoming the world's first to launch a waterproof bidet and the first in Korea to release a product with a steam-cleaning nozzle," adding, "Going forward, based on our unrivaled bidet manufacturing technology, we will strive to develop products with the functions consumers need so that they can live more conveniently and safely."
