inus, the total living brand of IS DONGSEO (IS Dongseo, CEO Kwon Min-seok), a comprehensive construction and building-materials company, announced that two of its products won main prizes and one product was selected as an Excellent Design product at the '2019 Good Design Product Selection' awards ceremony.
At the ceremony held on November 6 at KINTEX in Goyang, the inus faucet 'IBF-7210' and the wall-hung bidet-integrated toilet 'IW-H20L' from HYGEA, inus's European-style brand, received the Commissioner of the Korean Intellectual Property Office Award and the President of the Korea Institute of Design Promotion Award, respectively. The inus faucet 'K-3210' was selected as a '2019 Good Design Product.'
The Good Design Product Selection, conducted annually since 1985, is Korea's most prestigious design award, hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and organized by the Korea Institute of Design Promotion. Under the Industrial Design Promotion Act, products are comprehensively evaluated on appearance, function, materials, and cost-effectiveness, and those recognized for design excellence are awarded the GOOD DESIGN mark.
The inus faucet 'IBF-7210,' which received the Commissioner of the Korean Intellectual Property Office Award, was highly praised for enhancing aesthetics and practicality through a clean form and ergonomic design not seen in conventional side-handle-type faucets. Utilizing the basic square shape, it emphasizes crisp lines from the body to the handle, and by turning the handle at a 45-degree angle and positioning it at the top of the body, it minimizes the inconvenience that arose when using conventional side-handle-type faucets.
The wall-hung bidet-integrated toilet 'IW-H20L' also received the President of the Korea Institute of Design Promotion Award by introducing a modern exterior design and a new concept not found in existing product lines: a separable internal bidet module. Because the internal bidet module separates from the outer cover and seat, when after-sales service is needed, only the internal module can be removed so the unit can still be used as a toilet, and upgrading to a subsequent model is possible without replacing the toilet seat or the toilet itself. By applying a wall-drainage method, it reduces noise by about 25–30% compared to conventional floor-drainage methods, and unlike existing products limited to white, it offers a variety of colors and textures, broadening the range of consumer choice.
In addition, the inus faucet 'K-3210' was selected as a '2019 Good Design Product,' recognized for its outstanding aesthetics and usability that resolve the drawbacks of conventional side-handle faucets, whose handles are inconvenient to operate.
