Low-cost pick-up service

Expanding the omnichannel shopping experience

Home furnishing retail company IKEA Korea has opened the ‘IKEA Gwangju Pick-up Point’ in Unam-dong, Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, offering inspiration for the home of your dreams along with a convenient omnichannel shopping experience.

The IKEA Gwangju Pick-up Point is a new customer touchpoint where customers in the Gwangju area who have found it difficult to visit an IKEA store can directly experience IKEA's home furnishing products and solutions and take advantage of a low-cost delivery service. As a home furnishing leader that creates a better life at home, IKEA plans to strengthen its omnichannel offering by presenting an online shopping experience with enhanced convenience and accessibility as well as offline home furnishing experience opportunities.

Housed in a standalone two-story building with a total area of 162㎡ and operating for six months, the IKEA Gwangju Pick-up Point consists of a pick-up area on the first floor and the ‘IKEA Home’ on the second floor. On the first floor pick-up area, customers can collect products purchased through IKEA's various online channels, including the official online store, mobile app, and orders placed by phone or chat. The pick-up service costs 9,000 won and is available for products whose sides do not exceed 180㎝ in length and whose volume is less than 0.5 CBM.

The second-floor ‘IKEA Home,’ decorated like a real home, brings to life the spaces we use every day—such as the living room, bedroom, kitchen, dining area, children's room, and workspace—with IKEA's inspiring home furnishing ideas and solutions. In particular, visitors can look at and experience a variety of products firsthand, including IKEA's bestsellers such as the VALEVÅG pocket spring mattress, the SÖDERHAMN sofa, and the KALLAX shelving unit.

An omnichannel shopping experience that makes it even more convenient to enjoy IKEA's home furnishings is also provided. Customers can receive guidance on a variety of remote services, including the ‘Contactless Real-time Service,’ which covers everything from professional consultation to product purchase; the ‘Online Video Planning Service,’ where customers can receive consulting from a home furnishing planner; and ‘Self Planning,’ which lets customers design a home and furniture that reflect their own tastes and personality.
