Lotte Castle River Park Signature
A Collaboration with the Lotte Foundation for Arts
In response to the growing trend of prioritizing residential comfort, Lotte E&C has unveiled a distinctive landscape design. Under the concept of "Nature Becomes a Work of Art in a Museum," the apartment complex has been created with installations by renowned artists, so that the scenery itself becomes art and the complex feels like an art museum.
The complex where these artworks have been installed is "Lotte Castle River Park Signature," located in Jayang-dong, Gwangjin-gu, Seoul. Upon entering the complex, visitors can appreciate a "Moss Garden" featuring large pine trees, majestic boulders, and moss, while the water feature at the center of the complex includes an artificial rock mountain (seokgasan) and a waterfall, creating scenery that conveys the refreshing feel of nature.
In addition, the artificial rock mountain and trees reflected in the mirror fountain, finished with black granite stone, evoke artworks displayed in a gallery, offering varied scenery depending on the viewing angle. A large tea house, where residents can enjoy this scenery and the artworks, is positioned at the center of the complex.
Through a collaboration with the Lotte Foundation for Arts, the complex features works by renowned artists Kwon Chi-gyu and Kim Byoung-ho. Kwon Chi-gyu's work, "Resilience–Lyrical Landscape," was conceived with the motif of a "poplar tree," a resting place that provides shade and repose for birds and farmers. Made of stainless steel, the piece captures the curves found in nature. Kim Byoung-ho's work, "Cross-Sections of Nine Gardens," made using metal, reflects the lives of modern people through a garden that nurtures and stages life. Crafted from diverse materials and forms, these artworks harmonize with the apartment landscape, making the entire setting appear as a single work of art.
