KRW 43 million worth of furniture donated to 50 youth preparing for independence
KRW 57 million worth of goods also sponsored to independence-preparation facilities
To help youth preparing for independence settle stably into society, Fursys Group held the 'Fursys Group First Furniture Support Program Handover Ceremony for Youth Preparing for Independence' on August 18 at the ChildFund Korea headquarters in Seoul.
Since 2024, Fursys Group has continued a program that provides 'first furniture' for the first independent living spaces of youth preparing for independence—those within three years of leaving care or exiting a facility. The purpose of the program is to ease the financial burden by supporting furniture as they take their first steps toward independence, and to help them grow into healthy members of society in a stable environment. This year, the company delivered approximately KRW 43 million worth of furniture to 50 individual youth preparing for independence and approximately KRW 57 million worth to independence-preparation facilities such as the Gangwon Youth Independence Support Center Raum, completing a total of KRW 100 million in support. Participating in this support were furniture brands under Fursys Group—including Fursys, iloom, Sidiz, and Desker—as well as the interior brand Purple Six Studio.
Kim Young-gyu, Vice President of Fursys Group, said, "Fursys Group's mission is to improve the quality of life for more people through products and services that connect people and spaces," adding, "The 'first furniture' support goes beyond simply delivering furniture; it carries our encouragement and support for the youth preparing for independence who are taking their first steps into society." He continued, "We hope this support serves as a stable foundation for these young people's lives and provides practical help in designing their futures. Going forward, we will continue our social contribution activities that create positive change throughout society through space."
Shin Jung-won, head of ChildFund Korea's Social Contribution and Partnership Division, said, "The living environment is an important foundation for youth independence," and added, "We expect Fursys Group's support to be a great help in enabling young people to stably equip themselves with the furniture they need for daily life and to settle into society."
In addition to this program, Fursys Group carries out various social contribution activities, including donations for wildfire recovery, furniture donations for local communities, and volunteer activities with employee participation. The company plans to develop the 'first furniture' support program not as a one-time project but as a sustainable initiative that brings real change to youth preparing for independence.
