Blocking heat transfer between the home's interior and exterior for effective heating and cooling
Jaehyun Haneulchang, a specialized brand for interior and architectural interior/exterior finishing materials, announced that it has completed Grade 1 window energy-efficiency registration for three of its PVC window products. The products achieved a thermal transmittance that meets the Grade 1 standard in tests conducted by the SGS Korea Construction Testing & Research Institute.
The products that have now completed Grade 1 registration are △JBF-232R Double Window 22T (thermal transmittance 0.886 W/㎡·K) △JBF-250RW-01 (thermal transmittance 0.884 W/㎡·K) △JBF-250RW-02 (thermal transmittance 0.704 W/㎡·K).
The 22T double window 'JBF-232R' is a product mainly applied to mid- to large-sized room windows and living-room double windows. By raising the height of the water barrier sill, it minimizes rainwater intrusion and enhances stability, and it can accommodate pair glass up to 24 ㎜ thick for excellent insulation performance. The 'JBF-250RW-01' and 'JBF-250RW-02', which feature modified glass specifications based on the smart expandable double window (JBF-250R), are also applied as mid- to large-sized room windows and living-room double windows. Combining functionality and design, they create a refined, dignified atmosphere, and when used as double windows such as living-room partition doors, they offer easy handling and excellent workability.
Thermal transmittance is the thermal conductivity divided by the thickness; the lower the value, the higher the insulation performance. It serves as an important benchmark for blocking heat transfer between a building's interior and exterior to achieve effective heating and cooling. Jaehyun Haneulchang explained, "With the recent rise in heating costs, consumer interest in the insulation performance of homes is growing," adding, "By having three of our PVC window products achieve Grade 1 energy efficiency, this will serve as a key criterion in consumers' product choices going forward."
In step with the expansion of the high-efficiency window market, Jaehyun Haneulchang continues its efforts to develop windows that go beyond Grade 1. Late last year, an aluminum single window fitted with a 156 ㎜ 43T exposed bar earned a Grade 1 rating from a KOLAS-accredited testing institution.
The product applies a polyamide insulating material to enhance the frame's insulation performance and uses 43T high-performance Low-E glass to achieve a thermal transmittance of 0.717 W/㎡·K and a Grade 1 airtightness rating. By obtaining Grade 1 with an aluminum single window—which is heat-sensitive—Jaehyun Haneulchang expects to raise its brand recognition in the recently expanding curtain-wall market and the aluminum insulated window market for high-end housing.
Meanwhile, Jaehyun Intex Co., Ltd. began in 1983 as Daesan Wood and became familiar to consumers under the 'Jaehyun Haneulchang' brand in 2003. Jaehyun Intex had long focused on its door, molding, and interior door businesses, but it continues to strive for consumer satisfaction through product-line expansion, including entering the PVC window business in 2015, the aluminum (AL) window business in 2021, and the interior film business in 2022.
