Noroo Paint
Steel Recycled Anti-Corrosion Coating

Noroo Paint announced that it has obtained Recycled Content Verification for its ‘Steel Recycled Anti-Corrosion Coating’ from Intertek, the UK-based, world’s largest testing, inspection and certification organization.
Intertek’s Recycled Content Verification grants certification for the recycled materials declared by a company through rigorous testing and review in accordance with the ISO 14021 guidelines, and provides a product label so that customers can easily recognize the material’s environmental certification.
The certified Steel Recycled Anti-Corrosion Coating is a product that recycles by-products (slag) generated during the steel manufacturing process as a coating raw material. Functionally, it offers excellent adhesion and film strength, and its relatively superior anti-corrosion performance allows it to be used for a variety of purposes, such as preventing the corrosion of steel structures. During the product development stage, Noroo Paint established pigment and coating technology that improves dispersibility while simultaneously enhancing compatibility by applying surface modification technology. The company also secured technology that can replace the extender pigments that had until now been mostly dependent on imports.
Recently, the domestic steel industry has been actively pursuing efficient recycling policies for steel by-products to practice carbon neutrality, and is actively continuing joint research and development with various industries to recycle steel by-products. A Noroo Paint official said, ‘We plan to expand the application of steel by-product recycling technology in order to broaden our lineup of recycled products,’ adding, ‘Our technological capabilities, recognized by an international certification body, will contribute to creating a resource-circulation ecosystem in the domestic steel industry.’
