110 Million Won in Support

Kkuktturami Group (Chairman Choi Jin-min) announced that it held the ‘Kkuktturami Scholarship Award Ceremony’ for middle and high school students as well as university students in Haenam County, South Jeolla Province (County Mayor Myung Hyun-kwan).
Held on May 30 in the main conference hall of the Haenam County Office, the ‘Kkuktturami Scholarship Award Ceremony’ was attended by some 80 people, including Kkuktturami Group Chairman Choi Jin-min, Haenam County Mayor Myung Hyun-kwan, other guests, and Haenam County scholarship recipients.
The total scholarship fund of 110 million won is being provided to support the studies of the 70 selected scholarship recipients. Now in its 40th year, the Kkuktturami scholarship program had produced a cumulative total of approximately 54,000 scholarship recipients as of last year, with cumulative funding reaching 35.9 billion won.
Kkuktturami Group Chairman Choi Jin-min said, “We plan to continue our ongoing interest and support, including the Kkuktturami Scholarship, so that an environment in which students can devote themselves to their studies can be created,” adding, “I hope that the promising young talents selected as Kkuktturami scholarship recipients will grow into individuals who lead the development of their local communities and of the Republic of Korea across various fields.”
Meanwhile, beyond its scholarship program, Kkuktturami Group carries out a variety of initiatives through the Kkuktturami Culture Foundation and the Kkuktturami Welfare Foundation, including academic research support projects, development funds for educational institutions, support projects for social welfare facilities, and housing environment improvement projects. In the 40 years since the foundations were established, the group has given back some 56.7 billion won to society, actively fulfilling its corporate social responsibility.
