Bosch Ramps Up Its Ultra-Powerful New ‘BITURBO’ Technology Lineup
Bosch Power Tools Division (Division Head Park Jin-hong), a global leader in the power tool sector, is officially unveiling its ‘BITURBO Brushless (hereafter BITURBO),’ made even more powerful by groundbreaking high-performance motor innovation technology.
Bosch Power Tools first introduced the ‘Bosch Cordless Mitre Saw (GCM 18V-216)’ last year as its first product equipped with BITURBO, and beginning in late July it has been rolling out and expanding its BITURBO lineup in stages, starting with the ‘Bosch Cordless Grinder (GWS 18V-15 SC).’
BITURBO is an innovative technology that delivers corded-tool-class output of up to 1,800W through the synergy of combining Bosch’s new high-performance brushless motor with its ultra-powerful premium battery, ProCORE18V. It enhances brushless motor performance with neodymium magnets featuring optimized airflow, and it maximizes operating efficiency through Coolpack 2.0, the heat management technology of the ProCORE18V battery. In addition, while delivering high-output performance, BITURBO products are lighter and more compact than comparable competing products and feature optimal ergonomic design and product-specific smart functions, enabling safe, fast and efficient work. On top of this, they are compatible with all of Bosch’s professional 18V cordless tools and batteries, making them economical.
The GWS 18V-15 SC cordless grinder, the first BITURBO new product in 2020, is an upgrade of the GWS 18V-10 SC released in the first half of this year, boasting up to 1,500W of motor performance—50% more powerful than before. This allows users to experience even greater cutting speed and grinding performance.
The GWS 18V-15 SC offers six-step speed adjustment via the display (HMI) located on the tool head, and it delivers outstanding connectivity thanks to a new low-power connectivity module. By linking the grinder to the Bosch Toolbox app via Bluetooth, users can customize and set their desired speed—anywhere from 3,400 rpm to 9,800 rpm—directly in the app to suit the work at hand. Users can also check the tool’s status and receive alerts through the Toolbox app.
Features that ensure user safety during work are also provided as standard. Its Intelligent Brake System stops the tool roughly 30% faster than products on the market, bringing it to a complete stop within two seconds. If the disc catches on an obstacle during work and a sudden overload causes kickback (Kickback Control function), or if the tool is dropped and hits the ground (Drop Control function), the tool stops itself to prevent accidents. In addition, it is equipped with a Restart Protection function that prevents the tool from automatically restarting when the power supply is temporarily cut off. The product is a 4-inch grinder released in two versions: a bare tool (the main body excluding battery and charger) and a kit product, with the kit including two ProCORE18V batteries and a new 18V charger (GAL 18V-160C).
Meanwhile, to mark this new product launch, Bosch Power Tools plans to run a sensational BITURBO new-product purchase event during August. Details can be found on Bosch’s official community café (https://cafe.naver.com/boschpt), the Bosch professional power tools website (https://www.bosch-pt.co.kr/kr/ko/service/events-news/events/), or the Bosch call center (080-955-0909).
A Bosch Power Tools official said, “BITURBO is a next-generation technology that combines Bosch’s ProCORE18V premium battery with a high-performance brushless motor to deliver a higher level of high-output performance while maximizing work efficiency,” adding, “In particular, the cordless grinder released this time is a high-end product that brings together not only BITURBO but also Bosch’s innovative technologies such as connectivity and safety functions.”

IMESAC Selected as a Hit Brand in the Drill Driver Category on Danawa
IMESAC Co., Ltd., a company specializing in cordless tools, announced that it was selected as a Hit Brand in the drill driver category run by Danawa, the leading price-comparison site, placing a total of three products on the list.
The first of the products named this time is the BLDC 14.4V impact driver (BL14M503). IMESAC explained that the output and performance emanating from its compact size overwhelm those of 18V products, making it unrivaled when it comes to performance.
The second product selected, the 14.4V drill driver (AD414R), is the best-selling of IMESAC’s 14.4V products and is loved in a wide range of fields such as assembly lines, workshops, electrical work and interior work. The last product selected, the BLDC 22V impact driver (BL22M806), delivers high output and high performance at MAX 22V, simultaneously addressing the heavy weight of 36V models and the insufficient power of 18V models, and is pioneering a new market unique to IMESAC.
IMESAC said, “Based on purely domestic in-house technology, we plan to continue adding and launching new lineups of new products in the second half of 2020 as well,” adding, “We will make relentless efforts to become a company that satisfies customers by improving power tool technology, with marketing strategies that put the customer first and a commitment to delivering free-flowing power anytime, anywhere.”
