Sponsors ‘Auto_Lab’ with Glasurit
Excellent color development and weather resistance
Chokwang Paint Co., Ltd. (CEO Yang Sung-ah) recently announced that it has sponsored ‘Auto_Lab,’ a home-built car club at Pusan National University, with ‘Glasurit,’ a premium automotive refinish paint. This sponsorship has continued since 2022, providing practical support through automotive refinish paint and painting technology.
Glasurit is a premium brand from Germany’s BASF—a high-performance paint offering excellent color development, fast drying speed, high durability, and good workability. Widely used by automakers and repair shops around the world, it is recognized as a product well suited to professional coating work that requires high-quality exterior finishes.
Auto_Lab is a home-built car club at Pusan National University whose members design and build their own cars and compete in domestic and international competitions. Over the past three years, the club has achieved notable results, winning numerous awards at various contests and competitions, including an Encouragement Award at the ‘2024 FSK Formula,’ an Encouragement Award at the ‘2023 KSAE C-formula,’ and a Silver Award for Optimal Design at the ‘2022 KSAE Altair.’
Auto_Lab applied Chokwang Paint’s Glasurit products in its vehicle build process this year as well, and said of the actual results, “It exceeded our expectations in every respect—color development, drying speed, adhesion, and weather resistance.” In particular, the club noted, “The coating did not peel off easily even under the external conditions encountered while driving, allowing us to stably maintain the vehicle’s sleek exterior appearance. The surface texture and color rendering were also excellent, which greatly helped enhance the detail and overall completeness of the vehicle.”
A Chokwang Paint official said, “We are helping students gain build experience using coatings of the same quality that professionals use in the field,” adding, “Going forward, we will continue to expand industry-academia cooperation with local universities and to carry out ESG activities that contribute to nurturing future mobility talent.”
