Educating interior design majors at Dongyang Mirae University and Daelim University

Providing tiles for graduation exhibition spaces and sharing knowledge on types, characteristics, and applications

Jinyoung Korea Co., Ltd. (CEO Ko Gil-seok), a specialist importer of tiles, carried out product support and seminars for students majoring in interior design as a partner company participating in industry-tailored education.

Jinyoung Korea donated tiles suited to the students' design concepts for each space within the graduation exhibition created by 24 students from the Department of Interior Environmental Design at Dongyang Mirae University. In particular, the company did more than simply provide products—it also supported in-depth learning about the types and characteristics of tiles based on each student's theme. As part of the expert mentoring required for the finishing-materials market research and analysis course, Kim Sun-mi, space designer and general manager at Jinyoung Korea, served as a corporate mentor, actively engaging in the partnership by giving students conducting field research easy-to-understand guidance on the use and scalability of space and ceramics as well as the characteristics of the materials.

In addition, on September 18, Jinyoung Korea held a seminar on the scalability of tile materials for 23 students in the Interior Architecture Construction major of the Interior Design Department at Daelim University, with which it had signed a family-company partnership. Through both theory and a showroom tour on tiles—whose application as a key finishing material in interior design is expanding—the participants shared a deeper understanding of tiles.

At the seminar, the presenter explained the strengths of various sizes, thicknesses, functions, and materials in an easy-to-understand way while showing actual tile products, and drew empathy from the students through videos and other materials designed to aid comprehension.

Jinyoung Korea stated, "As the range of tile applications continues to expand, we arranged this seminar to introduce the advantages and applications of tiles to major students who are growing into designers," adding, "Going forward, we plan to hold seminars not only with professionals in interior design and planning but also with schools where students are studying spatial design, and we will strive through various activities to generate greater interest in tile materials."
